Forward Deployment Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Forward Deployment Engineer based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, software engineering, consulting, and customer delivery. You will partner with Sales, Engineering, and Service Delivery teams to turn complex business challenges into scalable AI and agentic solutions. From discovery and technical scoping through system design, development, and production rollout, you will own critical parts of the deployment lifecycle. The role is highly hands-on, with the majority of your time focused on coding, agent development, and production deployment. You will work directly with customers and senior stakeholders to identify workflow opportunities, demonstrate solutions, and drive adoption. Your field experience and feedback will also help shape product, research, and model roadmaps. This is a fast-moving environment suited to an innovative technical leader who enjoys solving ambiguous problems and creating measurable business impact.

Accountabilities:

• Identify and develop opportunities to increase the adoption of AI agents, complex data models, and intelligent workflows across go-to-market organizations.
• Map sales and business journeys end-to-end to uncover opportunities for AI-powered automation, agentic workflows, and productivity improvements.
• Own technical delivery across multiple customer deployments, taking solutions from initial prototype and proof of concept through stable production.
• Design, architect, build, and deploy full-stack systems that deliver measurable customer value and generate insights for future solutions.
• Develop fit-for-purpose agentic solutions based on customer requirements, research, business workflows, and industry-specific needs.
• Work closely with account teams and customer stakeholders to understand requirements, guide adoption, and ensure successful implementation.
• Scope projects, sequence delivery, identify risks, and remove technical or operational blockers early in the process.
• Balance scope, delivery speed, technical quality, and customer needs while adapting plans as requirements evolve.
• Create demonstrations, proof-of-concept environments, and real-time prototypes that communicate the potential of AI-driven solutions.
• Spend the majority of working time in hands-on engineering, including coding, agent development, system integration, testing, and deployment.
• Codify successful approaches into reusable tools, playbooks, frameworks, and technical building blocks that can accelerate future deployments.
• Gather and communicate field feedback to Product and Research teams, highlighting model strengths, limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide technical and strategic guidance to stakeholders, combining business consulting with full-stack technology thinking.
• Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and senior stakeholders, including executive-level audiences, to drive customer success and satisfaction.
• Support broader teams with knowledge of emerging AI products, technologies, and market developments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering, technical deployment, or related experience, including significant customer-facing or internal stakeholder-facing responsibilities.
• 5+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or AWS, with strong preference for GCP expertise.
• Professional-level GCP certification is required; Forward Deployment Engineer training or certification is a plus.
• Proven experience strategizing, designing, architecting, and leading the deployment of scalable cloud solutions, preferably on GCP.
• Strong experience delivering complex systems in fast-moving, ambiguous, or rapidly changing environments.
• Production-grade full-stack development experience across frontend and backend technologies using Python, JavaScript, or comparable programming stacks.
• Hands-on experience building or deploying applications powered by large language models (LLMs), generative AI, or related technologies.
• Understanding of how model behavior, performance, and limitations can influence product design and customer experience.
• Experience with agentic AI solutions, workflow automation, or intelligent systems is highly desirable.
• Ability to take complex or ambiguous requirements and translate them into simple, practical, production-ready solutions.
• Strong architectural mindset with innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to rapidly prototype and demonstrate technical concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to engineers, product teams, customers, and business leaders.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, prioritization, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Comfortable working with senior leadership and executive-level stakeholders, including CXOs.
• Strong consulting mindset with the ability to connect business objectives with technical and AI-driven solutions.
• Strong foresight, risk management, and ability to make real-time adjustments while protecting customer experience.
• Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and maintain quality while delivering in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute knowledge across teams and support emerging technology initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
