Head of Foundation

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Foundation based in Switzerland.

Take on a senior leadership role at the forefront of the Web3 and blockchain ecosystem, helping shape the growth and strategic direction of a leading Ethereum scaling platform. You’ll be responsible for identifying major growth opportunities and translating them into a clear, long-term ecosystem strategy. The role combines business development, strategic partnerships, public representation, and ecosystem leadership. You’ll build relationships with influential investors, projects, developers, enterprises, and other key stakeholders across Web3 and beyond. As a highly visible representative, you’ll speak at major industry events and advocate for the ecosystem among leading voices in blockchain. This is a high-impact opportunity for a deeply connected, crypto-native leader who can influence the future of decentralized technology.

Accountabilities

• Lead business development initiatives and identify new opportunities to expand the ecosystem, strengthen market presence, and drive long-term growth.
• Define and execute the Foundation and ecosystem strategy in collaboration with the Board of Directors and senior internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain high-value relationships with leading Web3 projects, developers, investors, venture capital funds, influencers, enterprises, and ecosystem partners.
• Represent the organization publicly at major conferences, panels, industry events, and other high-profile forums.
• Act as a credible and influential voice for the ecosystem, engaging with senior audiences and advocating for its position within the broader blockchain industry.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams across areas such as marketing, product, operations, and ecosystem development to identify, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives.
• Monitor developments across Web3, blockchain, and competing ecosystems to identify emerging trends, risks, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
• Recognize and amplify valuable contributions from ecosystem participants, partners, developers, and community members.
• Build strategic alliances with Web2 enterprises exploring blockchain and decentralized technology.
• Help shape the organization’s long-term positioning and influence across the global Web3 landscape.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, ecosystem development, or a closely related leadership role within Web3, blockchain, technology, or a comparable sector.
• Strong public profile and credibility within the Web3 or blockchain community, with demonstrated experience representing a brand, protocol, ecosystem, or organization at major conferences, panels, and industry events.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage senior executives, investors, developers, industry leaders, and other high-profile stakeholders.
• Proven ability to develop and execute long-term strategic plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Demonstrated experience developing ecosystem growth strategies that align with broader organizational objectives.
• Strong track record of building, nurturing, and maintaining strategic relationships with developers, projects, investors, influencers, and other ecosystem stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of the Web3, blockchain, decentralized finance, and broader crypto landscape.
• Strong crypto-native mindset with an established network across leading Web3 projects, ecosystem participants, and venture capital funds.
• Experience collaborating effectively across functions such as marketing, product, operations, partnerships, and community.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to identify, evaluate, prioritize, and act on high-value opportunities.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, and executive presence.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, decentralized, and highly dynamic environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel periodically for conferences, industry events, partner meetings, and other strategic engagements.
