This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mid-Level Java Developer based in Brazil.
As a Mid-Level Java Developer, you will contribute to the development and evolution of applications that support a major benefits business, helping deliver reliable and intuitive experiences for end users. You will work with Java and Spring Boot to build maintainable, high-quality solutions while applying clean coding and testing practices. The role combines hands-on development with close collaboration across the delivery team and client stakeholders. You will contribute to improving engineering practices, application quality, and overall process maturity. The environment is agile, using practices such as Scrum, Kanban, daily ceremonies, sprints, and reviews. Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot, delivering reliable and scalable solutions aligned with business and user needs.
- Build and maintain clean, simple, readable, and easily maintainable code following Clean Code principles.
- Develop and maintain unit tests, contributing to application quality and reducing technical risks.
- Participate actively in code reviews, sharing knowledge and helping maintain high engineering standards across the team.
- Work with Oracle and MongoDB databases as part of application development and maintenance.
- Develop and support solutions running in AWS, contributing to cloud-based application environments.
- Collaborate with team members and client stakeholders to improve application capabilities, user experience, and process maturity.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and delivery practices, including dailies, sprints, reviews, Scrum, and Kanban.
- Contribute to technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives across the development lifecycle.
- When relevant, work with technologies and practices such as AWS pipelines, Lambda, Sonar, microservices architecture, Docker, OCP, and VSTS.
- Professional experience developing applications with Java and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience writing unit tests and participating in code reviews.
- Strong understanding of Clean Code principles and software maintainability.
- Experience working with Oracle and MongoDB databases.
- Practical knowledge of AWS and cloud-based development environments.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, including daily meetings, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture, AWS pipelines, Lambda, Sonar, OCP, or VSTS is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with legacy Java technologies, including Servlets, JSP, JAX-WS, or JAX-RS, is advantageous.
- Experience with Docker is a plus.
- Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and continuous-learning skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and client stakeholders.
