Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to build enterprise-grade digital products and high-performance applications within a global, engineering-focused environment. You will work across frontend, backend, mobile, cloud, and data layers, contributing to complex systems designed for scale, reliability, and security. The position combines hands-on software development with architectural thinking, technical problem-solving, and close collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams. You will develop critical product capabilities, scalable microservices, robust integrations, and resilient mobile experiences, including offline-first scenarios. Strong emphasis is placed on engineering quality, automated testing, secure data handling, and maintainable architecture. You will also contribute to technical mentorship and engineering practices while working autonomously from solution design through deployment.

Accountabilities:

• Develop high-quality client and server-side software that is performant, scalable, secure, testable, maintainable, and aligned with established engineering standards.
• Design and implement core platform functionality, including identity management, cross-system profile synchronization, conditional event state machines, and complex business logic.
• Build scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, microservices architectures, and appropriate software design patterns.
• Develop responsive and reliable web and mobile experiences using React and React Native, with the ability to work with native iOS or Android technologies where required.
• Design high-performance client-side data persistence and synchronization mechanisms, supporting reliable local data access and offline operation in connectivity-constrained environments.
• Develop and maintain local database and synchronization architectures for mobile platforms, including SQLite, CoreData, Room, and offline delta-sync patterns where applicable.
• Implement secure field-level encryption and sensitive data protection using AWS KMS customer-managed keys and appropriate access-control mechanisms.
• Build advanced third-party integration adapters connecting messaging platforms, profile systems of record, payment gateways, and other external services.
• Design and implement REST/BFF APIs, data aggregation models, and integration layers that support scalable and maintainable enterprise systems.
• Develop comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests using frameworks such as Jest to validate complex functionality and boundary conditions.
• Improve automated verification and testing infrastructure to increase confidence in releases and reduce defects across the development lifecycle.
• Work with AWS services, Docker, and cloud-based infrastructure to support reliable development and production environments.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, and other project governance activities.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, managers, product stakeholders, and clients to understand user needs, anticipate challenges, and deliver solutions that drive client success.
• Gather technical and functional requirements, contribute to estimation and planning, and organize and present completed features to stakeholders.
• Independently drive project delivery from conceptualization through deployment while maintaining accountability for technical quality and outcomes.
• Conduct detailed code reviews and mentor other engineers on modular architecture, defensive coding, SOLID principles, maintainability, and domain safety.
• Contribute to engineering communities and Communities of Practice, helping strengthen technical capabilities and share best practices across teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade, scalable, high-availability applications or multi-tenant web and mobile platforms.
• Strong expertise in Node.js as a primary backend technology, with hands-on experience in TypeScript, Express, TypeORM, and class-validator.
• Solid experience with React, React Native, and modern frontend development, with additional mobile expertise in native iOS using Swift/SwiftUI or Android using Kotlin/Jetpack Compose being highly valuable.
• Proven experience designing and developing microservices and setting up effective local development environments.
• Strong understanding of Docker and containerized application development, with Kubernetes experience being advantageous.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server, including SQL queries, joins, views, GROUP BY, HAVING, and relational data modeling.
• Strong understanding of exception handling, data structures, multithreaded programming, memory management, concurrency, and application performance tuning.
• Excellent experience with unit testing, particularly Jest, as well as integration and automated testing practices.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, including abstraction and encapsulation, as well as SOLID principles.
• Good understanding of software architecture and design patterns, including Factory, Singleton, Observer, and similar patterns.
• Experience creating high-level designs using approaches such as UML, C4, or ArchiMate.
• Proven ability to design and implement well-tested, scalable, performant, and maintainable enterprise-level systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments, particularly AWS, including services such as S3, parameter stores, serverless compute, and secure access mechanisms.
• Experience implementing secure cloud solutions and familiarity with OWASP principles and application security practices.
• Strong knowledge of relational data architecture, including tenant isolation, row-level access controls, and multi-tenant data considerations.
• Experience with ORM technologies and modern architectural approaches such as microservices and serverless architectures.
• For mobile-focused work, advanced proficiency with native iOS or Android development, local database architectures, and offline synchronization patterns is desirable.
• For backend-focused work, strong proficiency in modular backend engineering, contract-driven REST/BFF API design, data aggregation, and multi-tenant schema isolation is desirable.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, containers, and cloud-based development environments is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, contribute to technical decision-making, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively under deadlines.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Professional proficiency in English.
