Senior DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer based in India.

This is a high-impact DevOps role focused on scaling, securing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and software delivery processes.

You will help build resilient systems and automation that enable global engineering teams to release software quickly and reliably.

The role combines hands-on engineering with ownership of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, observability, and operational automation.

You will work closely with Engineering, QA, and Security teams to improve performance, reliability, compliance, and uptime.

The position also offers the opportunity to design solutions from the ground up and independently drive complex initiatives through completion.

As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to DevOps standards while mentoring junior engineers and sharing best practices.

Accountabilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve scalable, secure, and reliable CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Deploy and operate containerized environments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Drive automation across infrastructure, deployment, and development workflows to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions that strengthen system observability and reliability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, and Security teams to deliver high-performing, secure, and compliant solutions.
• Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues across staging and production environments.
• Design and implement new systems and technical solutions based on business and engineering needs.
• Take ownership of open-ended projects, establish implementation plans, and independently drive initiatives through completion.
• Contribute to DevOps standards, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support operational coverage Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST, including rotational morning shifts when required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a closely related role.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of cloud infrastructure, with experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience writing, reading, debugging, and troubleshooting code in production environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting skills using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
• Experience with monitoring and logging technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
• Demonstrated ability to architect and build new systems and solutions from the ground up.
• Ability to take ambiguous or open-ended technical projects, define a clear implementation approach, and deliver independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness and ability to work the required Monday-Friday 2:00 PM-11:00 PM IST schedule and participate in rotational morning shifts.
