Software Development Engineer in Test

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test based in India.

This is an opportunity to help build and validate next-generation enterprise security solutions focused on zero trust, micro-segmentation, and threat protection.

You’ll design robust testing and automation strategies for distributed products operating across cloud and network environments.

The role combines software engineering, test automation, networking, and performance testing in a highly technical environment.

You’ll work closely with software engineers in Agile teams, contributing to design reviews, code reviews, test planning, and automation frameworks.

Your work will directly support the reliability, scalability, and security of solutions used by enterprise customers worldwide.

You’ll also have opportunities to improve testing processes, introduce new tools, and participate in customer installations and demonstrations.

The position is remote and offers flexibility in how and where you do your best work.

Accountabilities

• Design and implement feature-level test strategies and automation approaches for micro-segmentation and threat protection products.
• Own test execution and automation activities, ensuring comprehensive coverage, reliability, and repeatability.
• Identify and introduce appropriate testing tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency and outcomes.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams in Agile environments on code reviews, design reviews, test plans, and automation framework reviews.
• Partner with development teams to improve release quality, testing processes, and overall product reliability.
• Conduct performance and scale testing to validate the behavior of distributed security solutions under demanding conditions.
• Participate in customer installations and product demonstrations, providing technical testing support when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and quality practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with relevant professional experience in software testing or development.
• Programming experience in Python and/or Golang, with the ability to develop reliable test automation.
• Hands-on experience with the Pytest framework or comparable Python-based testing frameworks.
• Experience working with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, and REST APIs.
• Experience working with databases and SQL.
• Practical experience in Linux/Unix environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience with performance, scalability, and distributed-system testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while taking ownership of testing initiatives.
