This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Network Engineer (Zscaler Specialist) based in India.
This is a senior-level network engineering role focused on designing, securing, and supporting enterprise connectivity through modern Zero Trust technologies.
You will take ownership of Zscaler environments while also working across broader network, cloud, firewall, and SD-WAN infrastructure.
The role combines hands-on engineering, complex troubleshooting, network transformation, and operational support in a global enterprise environment.
You will play a key role in modernizing secure remote access, including migrations from traditional VPN solutions to ZTNA architectures.
The position requires strong collaboration across infrastructure, security, identity, and cloud teams, as well as the ability to handle L2/L3 escalations.
You will contribute to resilient network architecture, performance improvements, operational documentation, and continuous service optimization.

Accountabilities
- Design, deploy, configure, administer, and support Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) environments.
- Manage Zscaler policies and security controls, including forwarding profiles, authentication, SSL inspection, URL filtering, firewall policies, and data protection features.
- Configure and maintain Zscaler components such as App Connectors, Service Edges, Client Connectors, Browser Access, Segment Groups, and Access Policies.
- Implement and administer Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions across global enterprise environments.
- Troubleshoot complex ZIA and ZPA connectivity, authentication, application-access, and performance issues.
- Integrate Zscaler with identity platforms such as Azure AD/Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, and Active Directory.
- Support application onboarding and migrations from traditional VPN environments to ZPA.
- Configure and administer Cloud Firewall, Sandbox, DLP, CASB, and Advanced Threat Protection capabilities.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, deployment guides, and network architecture diagrams.
- Administer and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, Internet Edge, and data center environments.
- Work with Cisco routers and switches, Aruba wireless controllers, Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Design and support resilient, highly available network architectures, infrastructure upgrades, refresh initiatives, and network expansion projects.
- Act as an L2/L3 escalation point for critical network and Zscaler incidents and perform root cause analysis to deliver permanent resolutions.
- Troubleshoot VPN, DNS, authentication, application access, routing, switching, and SSL inspection issues.
- Participate in on-call support and major incident management activities.
- Monitor network availability, performance, capacity, security events, and Zscaler service utilization using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Prepare operational reports and proactively identify bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for infrastructure improvement.
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering.
- At least 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Zscaler ZIA and ZPA.
- Expert-level knowledge of Zscaler technologies, including ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, Client Connector, Cloud Firewall, Advanced Threat Protection, Cloud Sandbox, DLP, and CASB.
- Strong enterprise networking expertise covering TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, IPsec, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, QoS, and wireless networking.
- Solid knowledge of firewall administration, Zero Trust architecture, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), proxy technologies, Identity and Access Management, SSL/TLS, and Network Access Control.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, hybrid cloud connectivity, ExpressRoute, site-to-site VPNs, and SD-WAN integration with Zscaler.
- Experience supporting global enterprise environments with 1,000+ users.
- Proven experience with network transformation initiatives and migrations from traditional VPN solutions to ZTNA.
- Experience working within ITIL-based support and operational models.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure and security issues.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global and cross-functional teams.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical runbooks, deployment guides, and architecture documentation.
- One or more relevant certifications is strongly preferred, including Zscaler certifications such as ZCCA, ZCCP, or ZCCE; Cisco CCNA/CCNP Enterprise; Aruba certifications; Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS; Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE; or Fortinet certifications.
