This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter, Engineering & Architecture based in the United States.
This is a high-impact recruiting role focused on attracting specialized engineering, architecture, construction, and technical professionals.
You will own searches across hard-to-fill disciplines where many qualified candidates are passive and require thoughtful, credible engagement.
The role combines proactive sourcing, candidate assessment, relationship building, and full-cycle recruiting support.
You will partner with hiring leaders across multiple business units, offices, disciplines, and time zones in a collaborative remote environment.
As the organization continues to grow organically and through acquisitions, hiring needs will remain dynamic and evolving.
You will build deep knowledge of technical disciplines, credentials, project experience, and talent markets to strengthen hiring decisions.
Your work will directly contribute to the growth of a people-focused, employee-owned engineering and professional services organization.
Accountabilities
- Partner with recruiting and HR leadership to understand workforce needs and support hiring priorities across engineering, architecture, construction, infrastructure, and related technical disciplines.
- Manage the full recruiting lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, candidate engagement, interview coordination, offer support, closing, and acceptance.
- Build proactive talent pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs, particularly for specialized disciplines and challenging geographic markets.
- Develop creative sourcing strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, referrals, professional associations, competitor research, geographic talent mapping, and other talent-intelligence approaches.
- Identify and engage passive candidates through personalized outreach while maintaining long-term relationships with technical professionals for future opportunities.
- Conduct thorough candidate assessments covering technical discipline and project experience, professional credentials, client exposure, leadership capabilities, motivations, and compensation expectations.
- Present qualified and diverse candidate slates with clear recommendations, relevant market intelligence, and context around talent availability.
- Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, HR, compensation teams, hiring managers, and business leaders to maintain search momentum and deliver a strong candidate experience.
- Use recruiting metrics such as response rates, conversion rates, and pipeline health to evaluate sourcing effectiveness and continuously refine recruiting strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely candidate information, activity, and pipeline data within the applicant tracking system.
- Develop technical credibility within the disciplines supported and stay informed about relevant credentials, project types, market conditions, and candidate expectations.
- Take ownership of difficult searches, challenge assumptions when market conditions require a different approach, and introduce new sourcing methods, tools, and ideas.
- 5+ years of recruiting experience within AEC, engineering consulting, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or another technical industry.
- Demonstrated success sourcing and hiring passive, specialized, and difficult-to-find technical professionals across multiple disciplines.
- Strong expertise with LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, referrals, professional associations, talent mapping, and other proactive sourcing techniques.
- Ability to quickly understand technical positions and translate business requirements into focused and effective search strategies.
- Proven experience building proactive talent pipelines, assessing candidates, managing relationships, and successfully closing offers.
- Working knowledge of technical credentials such as PE, EIT, RA, LEED, CxA, or comparable discipline-specific certifications, or the ability to learn technical requirements quickly.
- Strong proficiency with applicant tracking systems, recruiting platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, and sourcing or talent-intelligence tools.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, communication, judgment, and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously.
- Confidence working independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong partnerships with hiring managers and colleagues across multiple time zones.
- Ability to use recruiting data and market feedback to adapt sourcing strategies and make informed recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a candidate-centered approach, with the ability to build credibility and trust with highly specialized professionals.
- Interest in engineering, architecture, building systems, and technical industries, combined with a willingness to develop deep subject-matter knowledge.
- A collaborative, accountable, open, and direct communication style, with the confidence to respectfully challenge assumptions and recommend alternative approaches.
- Expected base salary of $85,000-$105,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, location, business needs, and internal equity.
