Game Artist & Animator (2D / 3D) | Onsite: Monterrey, Mexico

This is an onsite role based in our Monterrey, Mexico office.

We are looking for a talented Game Artist & Animator to help create premium-quality casino slot games. This role combines illustration, 2D animation, and 3D content creation to produce visually rich, engaging game experiences.

You will own the visual production of our games, designing characters, symbols, environments, interfaces, effects, and animations while collaborating closely with game designers and engineers to deliver polished, high-performance assets ready for production.

Our games are primarily built using PixiJS, with some projects using Cocos Creator. While programming experience is not required, an understanding of real-time game asset pipelines is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Design the complete visual identity of casino slot games.
• Create high-quality concepts, illustrations, symbols, logos, backgrounds, UI, and game assets.
• Model, texture, light, and animate 3D characters, props, and environments when appropriate.
• Produce polished 2D and 3D animations for gameplay, bonus rounds, win sequences, and character interactions.
• Create particle effects, transitions, and visual effects that enhance gameplay.
• Render and prepare production-ready sprite sheets, texture atlases, and animation assets.
• Optimize assets for web and mobile performance.
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure smooth integration into PixiJS and Cocos projects.
• Maintain visual consistency and quality across multiple titles.
• Contribute creative ideas during game concept and art direction discussions.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality game art and animation.
• Experience creating assets for video games, preferably casino slot games.
• Strong illustration and digital painting skills.
• Experience with Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or similar 3D software.
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with animation tools such as After Effects, Spine, Adobe Animate, or equivalent.
• Understanding of composition, color theory, lighting, anatomy, and visual storytelling.
• Experience creating sprite sheets, texture atlases, and production-ready game assets.
• Strong understanding of animation principles.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience developing casino slot games.
• Experience creating stylized or semi-realistic 3D assets.
• Familiarity with PixiJS or Cocos Creator asset workflows.
• Experience with particle systems and VFX.
• Basic knowledge of shaders and rendering pipelines.
• Understanding of game performance optimization.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools and workflows.
