Senior 2D Game Artist & Animator | Onsite: Monterrey, Mexico

This is an onsite role based in our Monterrey, Mexico office.

We are looking for a talented 2D Game Artist & Animator to join our game development team and create premium-quality casino slot games. You will be responsible for designing and animating all visual elements of our games, from symbols and characters to UI, effects, backgrounds, and game animations.

You’ll collaborate closely with game designers and developers to transform concepts into polished, high-performance game assets that deliver an engaging player experience.

Responsibilities

• Design high-quality 2D assets for casino slot games.
• Create polished animations for symbols, characters, bonus games, win celebrations, UI, and visual effects.
• Design complete game themes, including backgrounds, reels, icons, logos, and interfaces.
• Produce particle effects, transitions, and cinematic moments that enhance gameplay.
• Prepare and optimize assets for implementation in game engines.
• Work closely with developers to ensure assets integrate efficiently into PixiJS and Cocos-based projects.
• Maintain visual consistency across multiple game productions.
• Participate in concept development, mood boards, and art direction discussions.
• Iterate quickly based on design feedback while maintaining high production quality.
• Ensure artwork meets performance and memory requirements for web and mobile platforms.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating professional-quality 2D illustration and animation.
• Experience creating assets for games, preferably casino slots, casual games, or mobile games.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong animation skills using Adobe After Effects, Spine, Animate, or equivalent tools.
• Understanding of animation principles, timing, anticipation, squash & stretch, easing, and visual storytelling.
• Experience creating sprite sheets and game-ready assets.
• Ability to adapt to different visual styles.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment.
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing artwork for casino slot games.
• Familiarity with PixiJS rendering pipelines.
• Experience with Cocos Creator.
• Knowledge of VFX workflows and particle systems.
• Experience using Spine 2D or similar skeletal animation software.
• Understanding of UI/UX principles for games.
• Basic understanding of game implementation and optimization.
