Employee Relations Specialist

Employee Relations Specialist serves as a first point of contact providing support to management and employees through analysis and interpretation of University policies and procedures, review and resolution of employee requests, and objective assistance in problem-solving as applicable.

Operational Responsibilities

• Assists with facilitating communications and fostering effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
• Serves as a first point of contact for employees, managers seeking advice on employee relations matters.
• Assists employees in addressing questions or issues regarding benefits, time reporting, or leave issues;
• Helps to maintain a positive employee relations climate by proactively providing guidance to managers and responding to employee inquiries.
• Tracks reviews and consults with employees, department heads on issues related to Employee Relations as appropriate.
• Participates in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations problems, such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, and employee appeals and grievances;
• Identifies and recommends solutions when repetition of individual problems indicate negative trends, including disciplinary and commendatory actions.
• Receives, reviews and responds to all documentation requests in a timely manner.
• Coordinates on the exit interview process; prepares surveys, meets with employees, complies feedback and maintains metrics.
• Assists with various employee engagement programs and events fostering positive and effective staff relations.
• Documents all employee relations matters as appropriate for the situation and in accordance with legal compliance and organizational policies and procedures.
• Completes special projects and related duties as assigned by the line manager.
• Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
• Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment and practice to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or any other related field.

Required Experience

Expats:

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

UAE Nationals:

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
