The Role
As a Database Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll be responsible for the administration, operation, and support of relational and non-relational database environments, primarily Microsoft SQL Server. In this role, you ensure database availability, performance, security, and reliability while supporting mission-critical production systems under defined SLAs.
You will manage database installations and configurations, monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, and collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to support business requirements. Your work contributes directly to stable operations, data integrity, and continuous service improvement in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and operate MS SQL Server databases, ensuring availability, performance, and stability.
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database engines following operational standards.
Monitor environments, analyze alerts, and troubleshoot incidents in critical production systems.
Manage backup, recovery, high-availability solutions, and capacity planning.
Optimize queries, support applications, and maintain technical documentation and standards.

Who You Are
You’re good at what you do and bring hands-on experience supporting database environments in production. You are analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under SLAs in structured, enterprise environments. You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and contribute to reliable, well-documented operations.
Required Skills and Experience
2+ years of hands-on experience in database administration or support roles.
Experience administering and operating relational and non-relational databases, primarily MS SQL Server.
Knowledge of database installation, configuration, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Experience monitoring environments, analyzing alerts, and troubleshooting incidents.
English Intermediate proficiency required for technical documentation and collaboration with global teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience managing backups, recovery processes, and high-availability database solutions.
Familiarity with database security and access management (users, roles, permissions).
Experience with patching, upgrades, and hardening of database platforms.
Relevant certification such as DP-300: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent.
