PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Checks Truck before putting into service at the beginning of the shift Operate trucks in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Clean trucks as scheduled and/or required.
• Ensure trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored.
• Advise the Transportation supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
• Reports any complaints or problems regarding the Truck.
• Follows all the rules and regulations of both the transportation authority & terminal.
• Follows good safety practices with careful handling, driving in accordance with conditions, and within prescribed speed limits.
• Conducts job in a safe manner to ensure all work procedures and safety codes are followed, to prevent injury to all personnel and damage to equipment.
• Carry out all routine pre and post inspection on Truck s for operational conditions and ensure any defects are reported immediately.
• Handles any other tasks asked by his supervisor or Manager.
• Report immediately any damage sustained during operations by Trucks.
• Always maintain the Truck in a clean and tidy condition.
• Ensure Truck always has sufficient fuel and adhere to refueling & service schedule.
• Perform other related duties.
• The key impact of this incumbent is the execution of day-to-day operational activities.
