We are looking for a Global GEO Lead to drive our global GEO and organic search strategy across markets (temporary contract covering an indefinite period).
The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, search, or digital marketing, ideally within eCommerce or multi-market retail environments, with strong expertise in technical SEO, AI-powered search, and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
The role will lead the global GEO strategy, driving best practices, scalability, and consistency across markets. Experience managing, mentoring, or coordinating specialists is highly valued.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
Define and lead GEO strategy
- Own MANGO's global GEO strategy across all markets and domains.
- Define where and how MANGO should appear across AI search and generative engines, including
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and similar platforms.
- Identify new opportunities as AI search and customer behaviour evolve.
- Represent GEO in cross-functional planning (site migrations, new markets, replatforming and major
digital initiatives).
Technical SEO & site health
- Own the technical requirements that enable MANGO to be found and understood by search engines
and AI systems.
- Oversee crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking and Core Web Vitals across web
and app.
- Lead technical audits and drive remediation of issues (duplicate content, redirects, hreflang/i18n for
the multi-market setup, structured data/schema markup) together with Engineering.
- Ensure GEO requirements are considered in new platforms, technologies and site developments.
AI search
- Monitor how MANGO and its products appear in AI-generated answers and recommendations.
- Track MANGO's visibility, mentions and citations across priority AI platforms and queries.
- Understand why MANGO is or is not being surfaced and identify actions to improve visibility.
- Test new approaches and build best practices as AI search evolves.
Content & product optimization
- Partner with Content, Product and Merchandising teams to improve product and content visibility.
- Ensure product information is complete, structured and easy for AI systems to understand.
- Identify gaps in product information, taxonomy and content that limit visibility.
- Apply GEO principles across product pages, editorial content, video, creator content and commerce content.
External visibility
- Identify external sources that influence how AI systems represent and recommend MANGO.
- Work with relevant teams to strengthen MANGO's presence in important external sources and discovery ecosystems.
- Monitor how competitors are represented across AI search and identify opportunities for MANGO.
Measurement, testing and cross-team collaboration
- Define the GEO measurement framework with Analytics.
- Measure AI visibility, citations, mentions, recommendations, traffic and revenue.
- Identify opportunities through search demand, customer queries and competitive analysis.
- Lead GEO experiments and measure their impact.
- Manage GEO tooling and vendor relationships.
- Establish GEO standards and ways of working across relevant central and local teams.
ABOUT YOU:
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science or similar.
- 6+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, search or digital marketing, ideally in eCommerce or multi-market retail environments.
- Hands-on experience with technical SEO (crawling, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, hreflang).
- Strong understanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), AI-powered search and LLMs.
- Experience with SEO tooling such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Semrush/Ahrefs, log-file analysis, and AI-visibility monitoring tools.
Experience partnering with Engineering/Tech, Product and Content teams to prioritize and implement improvements.
- Experience managing or mentoring specialists.
- International eCommerce experience strongly preferred.
