Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the enterprise Test Automation and Quality Engineering strategy, roadmap and operating model.
• Establish scalable and reusable automation frameworks, engineering standards and quality practices across technology teams.
• Drive integration of automated testing and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous and reliable software delivery.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, engineering effectiveness and SDLC efficiency.
• Promote adoption and maturity of modern DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including shift-left quality and automation.
• Define and establish engineering metrics, KPIs and maturity measures that provide visibility into quality, productivity, delivery effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement opportunities for AI-assisted engineering and intelligent automation across the software development lifecycle.
• Assess existing engineering practices and help teams establish standardized processes, workflows and continuous improvement mechanisms.
• Build reusable engineering capabilities, frameworks and patterns that can be adopted across multiple teams.
• Establish and facilitate Communities of Practice to promote engineering standards, knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices.
• Build, lead and mentor a high-performing Engineering Excellence team.
• Partner across organizational boundaries and influence engineering leaders and teams to drive sustainable adoption and measurable improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 14+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, Test Automation, SDET or related engineering disciplines.
• Strong experience designing, implementing and scaling Test Automation / SDET / Quality Engineering capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience building reusable automation frameworks and engineering standards across multiple teams or products.
• Strong understanding of modern SDLC practices, CI/CD, DevOps and cloud-native engineering.
• Experience integrating automated testing and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience leading technical teams and driving engineering transformation across organizational boundaries.
• Experience establishing or using engineering metrics, KPIs and maturity measures to drive continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior engineering and technology leaders.
• Ability to translate complex engineering challenges into practical, scalable and measurable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience establishing or leading an Engineering Excellence, Quality Engineering, Test Automation or Engineering Productivity capability.
• Exposure to DevSecOps, developer experience and platform engineering practices.
• Experience with engineering maturity assessments and continuous-improvement frameworks.
• Practical experience applying Generative AI, AI-assisted development/testing or intelligent automation within the SDLC.
• Experience establishing Communities of Practice or enterprise-wide engineering standards.
• Experience working across globally distributed engineering organizations.
• Familiarity with modern cloud platforms, automation technologies and engineering toolchains.

• The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineering leader and capability builder who can operate across strategy and execution.
• They should be comfortable working with engineering teams at a technical level while also partnering with senior leaders to drive organizational change, establish standards and demonstrate measurable improvements.
• The role requires someone who can influence without relying solely on organizational authority, build credibility with engineering teams and progressively raise engineering maturity across the organization.

Success in this role will be demonstrated through measurable improvements such as:

• Reduced regression and release-validation effort.
