About Nord Quantique
At Nord Quantique, we strive to build impactful technology by relentlessly pushing our understanding of quantum science. We are an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, innovators, builders, and enthusiasts on a mission to make quantum computing a reality. Our quantum processors are designed to reduce errors in quantum computation to facilitate long-term scaling toward fully-fledged quantum computers. It is our responsibility to deliver this transformative technology for the greater good of society.
Located at the heart of the beautiful Eastern Townships region in the province of Quebec, Canada, we develop our technology in the vibrant quantum ecosystem of Sherbrooke. Leaning on more than a decade of vertical integration of quantum hardware, we are leveraging a comprehensive pool of quantum technology and micro-electronic infrastructure to deploy our quantum computing technology.
Our current needs
We are scaling our electromagnetic design capabilities alongside the development of increasingly complex quantum processors. To support this growth, we are building robust internal EM design toolkits and simulation infrastructure that enable fast, scalable, reproducible, and cost-efficient electromagnetic modeling across the Design team.
We are seeking a pragmatic and detail-oriented EM Design Tools & Infrastructure Developer to join the EM Design team. This role is intended for someone who can bridge computational electromagnetics, scientific software development, and quantum hardware design workflows.
The selected candidate will contribute directly to internal tools used for parametric model generation, simulation automation, solver integration, result extraction, post-processing, documentation, and loss-budget workflows.
Team mission
Enable fast, scalable, and cost-efficient EM simulation across the EM Design team by developing and maintaining robust modeling tools, automation workflows, and solver strategies that support roadmap-driven design and loss-budget rigor.
Working in close collaboration with experts at Nord Quantique, the chosen candidate will:
- Develop, maintain, and improve internal EM design toolkits supporting superconducting quantum processor design.
- Build robust automation workflows for parametric geometry generation, simulation setup, solver execution, result extraction, and post-processing.
- Integrate commercial, open-source, and internal EM simulation tools into reproducible design workflows.
- Contribute to solver benchmarking and numerical validation, including convergence studies, mesh sensitivity checks, and accuracy assessment.
- Collaborate with EM designers to translate recurring modeling needs into reliable internal tools and reusable software components.
- Support integration of simulation outputs into design documentation, loss-budget analysis, and roadmap-driven decision-making.
- Help identify workflow bottlenecks related to simulation throughput, licensing usage, HPC execution, and computational cost.
The selected candidate will operate within a highly dynamic environment and will be an essential member of the EM Design Tools & Infrastructure subteam, directly improving the speed, quality, and traceability of electromagnetic design work across Nord Quantique.
Education and experience requirements *
