We’re searching for a novice to mid-career level Data Insight Analyst (Level 2 of 5) to join our team and help elevate our data-driven decision-making capabilities. The ideal candidate will have proven success in analytics, data visualization, and process improvement, with a strong focus on Tableau, ServiceNow, Performance Analytics, and advanced analytics techniques. This role requires the ability to not only identify trends in data but also to understand and communicate the underlying causes, driving actionable insights and continuous improvement.
Objectives of this role:
- Develop and deliver impactful data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau and ServiceNow, ensuring clarity and actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Create, monitor, and refine KPIs within Performance Analytics to measure progress against organizational goals.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify opportunities, trends, and process improvements, providing recommendations based on data-driven evidence.
- Investigate the “why” behind data trends, not just the “what,” to support root cause analysis and strategic decision-making.
- Apply machine learning and AI techniques to uncover deeper insights and automate analytical processes where appropriate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mature data processes and promote a culture of data-driven decision-making.
Duties of this role include:
- Research, design, and build interactive dashboards and reports, working closely with business partners to understand requirements and deliver solutions that drive value.
- Gather and synthesize information from subject-matter experts, integrating business context into data analysis and visualization.
- Develop, organize, and maintain documentation for data sources, KPIs, and analytical processes to ensure transparency and repeatability.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement, leveraging data to support recommendations and track outcomes.
- Utilize machine learning and AI tools to enhance data analysis, forecasting, and anomaly detection.
- Support the development and maintenance of data architecture templates and best practices for data visualization and analytics.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner, tailoring communication to technical and non-technical audiences.

Although this position may allow a full-time virtual / telecommute work arrangement (subject to company policy), applicants must be in proximity to a major Northrop Grumman Facility (examples: Dulles, McLean, Chantilly, Falls Church, etc.) and be we willing/able to travel into the office frequently.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree with 0 years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associates degree with 4 years of relevant experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant experience is required
- Must have 1 year of experience in creating Data Visualizations and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Experience with ServiceNow is needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in data science, data analytics, artificial intelligence, or relevant technical field with 1.5 years of experience in data analytics or SAS reporting
- Firm understanding of ServiceNow Platform Analytics and workflows
- Previous experience in Infrastructure Operations
- Professional certification (ex: Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst or ServiceNow Performance Analytics)
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
- Experience in creating Data Visualizations and Key Performance Indicators
- Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- U.S. government security clearance is highly desirable

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
