Technical Engineer

Job DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out engineering inspections of rides, attractions and facilities.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes.
• Ensure all rides and attractions operate safely and efficiently.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend engineering improvements.
• Verify compliance with engineering standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Participate in annual ride inspections and certification programmes.

• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new rides and equipment.
• Participate in engineering projects and refurbishment works.
• Review engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Coordinate contractors during technical installations.
• Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards
• Responsible for preparing technical specifications such as Bills of Quantities (BOQs)

• Prepare technical reports following inspections and maintenance activities.
• Maintain maintenance records and engineering documentation.
• Monitor equipment downtime and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain spare parts records and technical manuals.

• Liaise with manufacturers regarding technical issues.

• Coordinate external contractors during maintenance activities.
• Verify completed work before handover.
• Monitor contractor compliance with safety standards

• Assist in preparing the maintenance budget.
• Monitor maintenance expenditure.
• Recommend cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Assist in inventory control of spare parts and consumables

• Ensure as reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare of employees at work.
• Support in the implementation of health and safety risk management programs relevant to the operations and work environment
• Report to the H&S department as required and support in the investigation of accidents and incidents.
• Ensure adherence to existing local H&S legislations and regulations as well as to any other established H&S policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the building and surrounding areas are safe for the for visitors and staff

Any other cognate duties as may be necessary in the circumstances and/or required by the employer.    
Candidate’s Profile:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering
• Professional Engineering qualification would be an advantage

• Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in the amusement, hospitality or manufacturing industry
• Experience with amusement rides, heavy machinery or industrial equipment is an advantage.

• High-level knowledge on mechanical, electrical, audio, visual, light, hydraulics and pneumatics systems and system integration environment
