The business is a global fruit services company. It provides logistical, packing, and marketing solutions to producers worldwide.

The Role: IT Manager
The IT Manager assumes full ownership of IT strategy, systems architecture, infrastructure, information security, and service delivery. The role exists to direct the technology function, ensure technology effectively enables operations from producer to consumer, and partner with ExCo, operational divisions, and external vendors to implement high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply 15+ years of overall IT experience and a minimum of 5 years leading a multi-site IT function to direct the technology function.

• Formulate and execute an IT strategy aligned with commercial goals.

• Oversee IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and service delivery.

• Manage technology budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.

• Spearhead systems integrations, technical enhancements, and business process optimisation.

• Collaborate with executive leadership (ExCo) and operations teams to evaluate technology risks and opportunities.

About You

• 15+ years of overall IT experience.

• Minimum of 5 years leading a multi-site IT function.

• Proven experience operating at ExCo or senior management level.

• Demonstrated delivery of ERP implementations and major cloud or infrastructure migrations.

• Background in environments where IT directly supports physical operations, such as agriculture, food, FMCG, manufacturing, mining, or logistics.

• Solid track record in data integration, data warehousing, and business intelligence (BI).

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.

• Valid driver's licence.

• Technical familiarity with IIoT, HMI, SCADA, MES, ERP, Cloud Systems, Google Workspace, MS 365, Linux, Windows, PostgreSQL, Python, VMware, networks, and cybersecurity.

• Strong grasp of artificial intelligence (AI) and modern information security standards.

• Commercial acumen and strategic thinking.

• Established leadership and people management skills.

• Ability to translate technical capabilities into measurable business value.

• Stakeholder management skills across internal operational teams and external partners.
