Application Engineer

Purpose

The next generation electronics products with modern PCB design face unprecedented complexity, demanding robust verification and first-pass success. We're expanding our European PCB Team with an expert Application Engineer in Systems/PCB design to drive customer success.

Key competency areas will be covering the core PCB Design process, such as library creation and management, schematic capture, PCB placement and routing. Understanding of the full PCB Design process is essential. Experience of PCB Data Management, Design for Manufacturing, and wider integration into systems like PLM and ERP will be an added bonus.

Role Overview

Transform customers System/PCB design process by:

• Understanding the customers’ needs and mapping these over to Siemens EDA technology

• Looking beyond the basic customer requirements and adding value with Siemens EDA Xpedition, HyperLynx and Valor tools

• Owning and driving the technical Pre-Sales and Implementation phases of any new engagements. This needs a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills

• Apply workflow expertise and knowledge in (PCB) design and implementation to provide the appropriate solutions to customers

• Good understanding of business requirements and ability to deliver solutions to meet business objectives

Key Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with customer stakeholders at the individual contributor level under guidance.

• Support technical discovery by gathering information on customer requirements, design flows, and challenges.

• Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations with mentorship and peer support.

• Support the technical aspects of sales campaigns, including evaluations, pilot projects, and solution positioning.

• Collaborate with Account Technology Managers, Technical Account Managers, Account Managers, and Field Application Engineers to support the execution of engagement plans.

• Assist in executing technical benchmarks, evaluations, and pilot deployments.

• Contribute to product adoption efforts through workflow support and routine tool configuration.

• Document and share customer insights, including technical requirements, evaluation outcomes, and competitive observations.

• Support customers during issue resolution by coordinating with Support Application Engineers when appropriate.

• Participate in training programs to develop knowledge of Siemens EDA solutions, competitive technologies, and go-to-market strategies.

• Shadow and learn from experienced team members to develop skills in customer engagement, discovery, and solution positioning.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering and/or relevant professional experience

• Experience in the core PCB Design process, from library, schematic through to PCB Layout and Manufacturing

• Experience with the high end PCB Design tools - Xpedition, Allegro, Altium

• Ability to write scripts Java, VB and Windows BAT files

• Excellent presentation as well as communication skills

• Excellent verbal and written English skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely

• Comfortable or willing to learn to present at all levels from technical to executive.

Logistics

The candidate will report into the European PCB and System Solutions Technical Team.

The role is based in Israel and includes travelling from time to time, both European and International.
