We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Accra. The successful candidate will oversee key accounting and financial management activities, provide accurate financial insights to management, and support sound financial decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and financial management activities to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

• Prepare, analyse, and present financial reports to support management decision-making.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations and financial reports.

• Develop and monitor annual budgets based on financial forecasts and business objectives.

• Analyse financial performance and expenditure to ensure that company spending remains within approved budgets.

• Monitor cash flow, expenses, revenues, and other key financial indicators.

• Prepare statutory accounts and ensure compliance with applicable accounting and financial reporting requirements.

• Support the preparation and coordination of annual external audits.

• Review financial policies, procedures, and internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.

• Oversee the effective operation of the finance function and support the development of efficient accounting processes.

• Provide financial analysis and insights on industry trends and the company’s financial performance.

• Support the recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management of finance team members where required.

• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in accordance with established accounting principles and company policies.

• Collaborate with other departments to strengthen financial controls and improve operational efficiency.

• Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by management.

Skills & Competencies

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and practical application of accounting principles.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modelling, and data analysis.

• Experience preparing statutory accounts and financial reports.

• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.

• Ability to lead, delegate, and effectively manage the work of others.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.

• Experience coordinating and supporting annual financial audits.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

• A minimum of seven (7) years’ proven experience in accounting or financial management.

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting procedures, principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

• Strong computer literacy and experience using accounting and financial management systems.

• Experience within the transportation, logistics, courier, or related industry will be an added advantage.
