Job Responsibilities

We’re looking for a high-agency, growth-minded Engineering Manager to lead our Tech Engineering team through hypergrowth. This isn’t just a team leadership role-this is a mission-critical opportunity to build and scale cutting-edge AI/Computer Vision platforms that power automotive retail at scale.

You’ll lead multiple engineering pods, work closely with our AI research, product, and design teams, and be the torchbearer of performance, velocity, and code quality. If you’re obsessed with building fast, scaling elegantly, and managing high-performance teams-this is your moment.

What will you do?

Engineering & Execution Leadership

• Drive end-to-end product engineering, from concept to production, in high-speed cycles
• Own architecture, delivery timelines, code quality, and scalability for AI-driven platforms
• Partner with Product & Design to translate business goals into fast, functional releases

Team Building & Talent Development

• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 8-12 backend, frontend, and AI engineers
• Foster a culture of accountability, autonomy, and excellence
• Hire smart, raise the bar, and build the next generation of tech leaders

Innovation & Infrastructure

• Stay hands-on with system architecture and design reviews
• Optimize systems for performance, cost, and reliability at scale
• Drive innovation in Computer Vision and Generative AI deployments

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with AI research, Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams
• Ensure strong communication loops between Engineering and business stakeholders
• Drive rapid experimentation while balancing long-term tech sustainability

What you must have?

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years managing and scaling engineering teams
• Strong background in backend engineering and distributed systems; experience owning services in production
• Proven ability to lead teams that ship reliably, from planning and estimation to delivery and post-release ownership
• Hands-on experience with system design, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure
• Demonstrated ownership of engineering quality: code reviews, testing standards, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response
• Ability to work closely with Product and Design while protecting engineering focus and technical integrity
• Comfortable making technical trade-offs under constraints (time, cost, scale) and standing by those decisions
• Experience driving execution in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments
• Data-oriented mindset with experience defining and tracking engineering and delivery metrics
• Familiarity with modern engineering tools and workflows (Git, Jira, CI/CD, cloud platforms)
