AI Engineer - Azure

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer with Azure expertise to design, build, and deploy generative AI solutions from our Pune office. You will work on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, delivering production-grade AI applications on Microsoft Azure. The role is hybrid and suits a senior engineer who can work closely with product, data, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end RAG pipelines, including document ingestion, chunking, embedding, indexing, and retrieval.
• Build and integrate MCP servers and clients to connect LLM applications with enterprise tools, data sources, and APIs.
• Develop and deploy AI services on Azure, leveraging Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and related Azure data and compute services.
• Evaluate and optimize model performance, latency, cost, and response quality through systematic testing and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
• Establish best practices for security, governance, and responsible AI within the solution lifecycle.

Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of total software or data engineering experience, with recent hands-on work in AI/ML solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building APIs and backend services.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search.
• Proven experience designing and delivering RAG-based applications.
• Working knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or comparable tool-integration frameworks.
• Solid understanding of vector databases, embeddings, and prompt engineering techniques.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
