About the job:
This role sits within our Core Banking Platform team and follows a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) model.
- Develop monitoring, alerting and health-check automation for Linux and Oracle environments
- Build automation and tooling in shell (Bash/ksh)
- Write PL/SQL and operational scripts to support batch processing and data flows
- Support and maintain Avaloq applications running on Linux platforms.
- Monitor system performance, conduct health checks, and provide operational support.
- Investigate incidents, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions with stakeholders.
- Participate in the end-to-end project lifecycle, including implementation and post-production support.
- Collaborate with team members on project delivery and operational activities.
- Contribute to automation, tooling, and continuous process improvement.
- Deliver high-quality outcomes while ensuring timely completion of project milestones.
Requirements
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash and/or Korn Shell).
- Basic experience with Oracle Database and SQL*Plus.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, SSL/TLS).
- Familiarity with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a disciplined approach to operational processes.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, or RMAN.
- Exposure to Ansible, Git, and CI/CD tools.
- Windows Server administration experience.
- Background in banking, financial services, or core banking operations.
- Familiarity with Avaloq Core Banking System (certification is an advantage).
