Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with a strong focus on CICS to join our dynamic team at Principal Global in Pune. The ideal candidate will have 5 7 years of experience in backend/API development, with a proven track record of delivering high quality solutions in a mainframe environment. This role requires a deep understanding of Mainframe technologies, particularly CICS, to support our ongoing projects and enhance our backend systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and APIs in a mainframe environment.
• Utilize CICS for transaction processing and ensure optimal performance of applications.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing applications, ensuring timely resolution.
• Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
• Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures for future reference.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in mainframe development.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong expertise in Mainframe CICS.
• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Experience with mainframe debugging tools and techniques.
• Solid understanding of backend development and API integration.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience with other mainframe technologies such as IMS or VSAM.
• Knowledge of modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 7 years of relevant experience in mainframe development.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
