Visa is an American payments technology company whose network traces back to the BankAmericard programme launched in 1958 and which became an independent public company in 2008. It does not issue cards or lend money; instead it operates VisaNet, the switching infrastructure that authorises, clears and settles hundreds of billions of transactions a year between issuing banks, acquirers and merchants in more than two hundred countries. Headquartered in San Francisco, the company earns fees on payment volume and processed transactions, and has expanded into account-to-account transfers, tokenisation, fraud scoring and open banking through Visa Direct and its value-added services division.

Job Description

What it's all about -

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, technology, payments and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients. VCA's core client segments include issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, payment enablers and governments.

Visa Consulting & Analytics is seeking a leader to build, lead, and scale our Cybersecurity Consulting practice for our European region. This role will own the strategy, go-to-market, and P&L for Cybersecurity Consulting, helping clients across financial services, fintech, and merchant ecosystems strengthen their security posture in an evolving threat landscape. The ideal candidate combines deep cybersecurity domain expertise with proven consulting leadership and business ownership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Build Practice Strategy:

  • Define and own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for VCA’s Cybersecurity Consulting practice in Europe.
  • Monitor market trends, client needs, and regulatory drivers to refine offerings paying attention to regional diversity.
  • Build scalable, repeatable consulting offerings, methodologies, and frameworks tailored to key client segments and regions.
  • Establish governance, KPIs, and performance dashboards to track financial performance, pipeline, delivery quality, and client impact.
  • Drive the P&L for the Cybersecurity Consulting practice, including revenue, margin, utilization, pricing, and investment decisions.
  • Define the operating model for the practice (roles, locations, sourcing mix, partner ecosystem) and scale capacity in line with growth targets.
  • Mentor and develop talent, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, inclusion, and excellence.
  • Establish and maintain a curated ecosystem of specialist partners and subcontractors for niche domains and surge capacity.

Cybersecurity Advisory Delivery:

  • Dual hat as an Advisor and hands on Project Manager for clients on complex cybersecurity engagements, ensuring high-quality, outcome-focused delivery.
  • Provide expert guidance on areas such as cybersecurity strategy and operating model, risk assessment, security architecture, threat detection and response, incident response and recovery, and regulatory/security compliance.
  • Evangelize Visa data, products and platforms into cybersecurity solutions where appropriate.
  • Represent Visa in industry forums, conferences and publications as a thought leader in cybersecurity and cyber fraud prevention.

Business Development and Go-to-Market:

  • Partner with Client Account Executives and regional Consulting teams to originate, shape, and close cybersecurity advisory opportunities.
  • Lead key pursuits and major deal negotiations, including solution design, commercials, and resourcing strategy.
  • Develop thought leadership (whitepapers, conference talks, industry forums) to position Visa Consulting & Analytics as a trusted cybersecurity advisor in payments and digital commerce.
  • Build strategic relationships with C-level and senior security stakeholders (CISO, CIO, CRO, Risk leaders) across priority markets.

Collaboration and Internal Partnership:

  • Work closely with Visa’s Cyber, Product, and RaIS teams to design integrated solutions and “One Visa” offerings.
  • Collaborate with other Consulting & Analytics practices (e.g., Risk, Strategy, Digital, Stablecoins for example) to create end-to-end client value propositions.
  • Align with global and regional cybersecurity leaders to ensure reuse of IP, consistency of standards, and cross-region solution sharing.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

What we'd like from you -

Experience:

  • Professional experience in cybersecurity, with experience in consulting leadership or equivalent senior management roles.
  • Proven track record of building and/or scaling a cybersecurity consulting practice or major cyber advisory offering, including P&L or clear revenue/margin ownership.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-stakeholder cybersecurity programs for clients, preferably in payments, banking, or fintech.
  • Significant experience engaging and influencing C-level stakeholders in technology, risk, and business leadership roles.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed, global environment across multiple regions and cultures.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building and scaling diverse, high-performing teams, with strong coaching and talent-development capability.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in ambiguity, with a bias for action and measurable outcomes.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience in payments, card networks, or digital commerce ecosystems.
  • Exposure to fraud and financial crime risk topics and ability to collaborate closely with corresponding domain experts.
  • Experience working across multiple European countries and regulatory environments.
