THE POSITION
The Supervisory Practices & Analytics Co-Op represents an opportunity to join the Investment Platform Supervisory Practices team, which helps strengthen and support the firm's first-line supervisory framework across a complex, global investment platform.
The team partners with Investment Platform leadership teams and investors, Legal & Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management and other groups to help identify emerging supervisory risks, develop effective monitoring and controls, and provide leadership with meaningful insights into areas requiring attention.
The Co-Op will gain exposure to investment processes and the governance and supervisory frameworks that support them. The role combines data analysis, risk and control thinking, process improvement and stakeholder engagement, providing an opportunity to understand how a global investment organization manages evolving business, regulatory, and operational risks.
Because supervisory priorities evolve with the business and regulatory environment, specific areas of focus may change over time. The co-op will gain direct exposure to investors and their investment processes. The co-op will work primarily with the Business Intelligence and Supervisory Practices team and assist with many of the tasks associated with managing a complex, growing, and fast-paced business. This position is based in Boston and includes interaction with colleagues across our global offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Co-Op will support the Supervisory Practices team across a range of supervisory, monitoring and risk-management initiatives.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the Investment Platform Morning Meeting process, including meeting logistics, coordination of materials, and capturing key discussion points and follow-up items.
- Supporting the development and execution of data-driven supervisory monitoring designed to identify trends, exceptions and potential areas of heightened risk across the Investment Platform.
- Assisting with conflicts-of-interest monitoring, including analysis related to the management of multiple portfolios or investment approaches where differing positions, trading activity or other circumstances may warrant additional supervisory and leadership review.
- Supporting elements of the Investment Platform's model risk framework, including maintaining information on models, assisting with periodic reviews and certifications, and supporting governance and monitoring processes as appropriate.
- Analyzing data and preparing materials to support group and regional supervisory meetings, management discussions and escalation processes.
- Helping develop and enhance supervisory dashboards, reporting and analytical tools that provide leadership with greater visibility into key risks and trends.
- Supporting reviews of supervisory processes and controls to identify opportunities for greater consistency, automation and scalability.
- Assisting with documentation of supervisory procedures, monitoring methodologies and governance processes.
- Partnering with colleagues across the Investment Platform, Legal & Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management and other functions on cross-functional risk and supervisory initiatives.
- Supporting emerging supervisory priorities and special projects as the Investment Platform and associated risks evolve.
- Leading monthly supervisory review process meetings involving investment activity, including facilitating discussions with senior Investment Platform leadership, coordinating with investors to obtain supporting information, and supporting risk assessment, escalation and compliance decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
We seek an intellectually curious, analytical and detail-oriented individual with an interest in understanding how investment organizations identify and manage risk. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with data/complex systems, exercising judgment, seeking guidance when needed, and approaching problems where the answer may not always be clear-cut.
The following will be viewed favorably:
- Strong academic record, including relevant coursework in finance, economics, business, risk management, data analytics, information systems or a related field.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and an ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies and potential areas requiring further investigation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Excel and data analysis or visualization tools; experience with Python, SQL, Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Interest in investment management, risk management, governance and/or financial regulation.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with appropriate judgment and discretion.
Please note: This co-op position entails cross-training to ensure optimal performance across functions. The anticipated start date for accepted candidates is December 2026.
Candidates must have prior co-op experience, as this position requires a foundational understanding of professional workplace dynamics and responsibilities.
