Network Engineer - (Public Sector)

At Xtremax, you will work on enterprise-scale network environments where reliability, security, and resilient connectivity are critical to modern digital services. As a Network Engineer, you will design, implement, support, and improve large-scale on-premises and hybrid network infrastructure spanning campus networks, data centres, WAN, Internet edge, wireless environments, and cloud connectivity.

You will work across network architecture, solution design, technical assurance, and operational support, with opportunities to solve complex networking challenges across highly connected enterprise environments. The role also involves hybrid networking with Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) and Government Commercial Cloud Plus (GCC+) environments, giving you exposure to technologies across enterprise routing and switching, Azure networking, network security, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support large-scale enterprise network infrastructure across campus, data centre, WAN, Internet edge, and wireless environments
• Develop network architectures and technical solutions covering routing, switching, segmentation, high availability, disaster recovery, and secure connectivity
• Design and support hybrid network architectures integrating on-premises infrastructure with GCC and GCC+ cloud environments
• Configure and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching technologies including OSPF, BGP, VRRP/HSRP, VLAN, VXLAN, QoS, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6, and NAT
• Design and support hybrid connectivity using technologies such as ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and Direct Connect or equivalent
• Design and maintain Azure networking and security components including Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, WAF, NSG, Front Door, and Virtual WAN
• Support data centre network architecture across core, distribution, and access layers, including network segmentation and redundancy
• Troubleshoot physical and logical network issues involving switches, wireless controllers, access points, copper and fibre cabling, patch panels, and end-user connectivity
• Manage network incidents through prioritisation, escalation, root-cause coordination, resolution tracking, trend analysis, and management reporting
• Participate in network design reviews, architecture governance, technical assurance, and technical consultancy across concurrent initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in enterprise network engineering, with at least 5 years in network architecture, solution design, or technical consultancy
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale on-premises enterprise network infrastructure
• Strong experience across campus LAN/WAN, data centre, Internet edge, DMZ, and wireless networking environments
• Experience designing and supporting hybrid network architectures integrating on-premises infrastructure with GCC and/or GCC+ environments
• Strong understanding of data centre networking, including core, distribution, and access layer design, segmentation, redundancy, and high availability
• Hands-on experience with enterprise routing and switching technologies including OSPF, BGP, VRRP/HSRP, VLAN, VXLAN, QoS, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6, and NAT
• Experience with hybrid connectivity technologies such as ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and Direct Connect or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with Azure networking technologies including Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, WAF, NSG, Front Door, and Virtual WAN
• Experience with load balancers, reverse proxies, IPAM, network monitoring, and performance management
• Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification

Preferred

• Experience working within Singapore Government agencies or Statutory Boards
• Familiarity with Singapore Government ICT policies, cybersecurity requirements, and cloud governance frameworks
• Experience leading network design reviews, architecture governance, technical assurance, and project consultancy across multiple initiatives
• Experience with DNS and hybrid name resolution
• Experience with network micro-segmentation and high-availability/disaster-recovery network design
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring, incident lifecycle management, trend analysis, and technical reporting
• Experience with physical network patching, cable tracing, labelling, port verification, and copper/fibre troubleshooting
• Experience with Azure networking in GCC/GCC+ environments
