Overview
BWI is the federally owned IT service provider of the German Bundeswehr, headquartered in Bonn, running IT operations, deployable mission IT, secure messengers and digitalisation projects for the armed forces and other federal bodies. Founded in 2006 as a public-private partnership and wholly owned by the Federal Republic of Germany since 2016, it works across cloud computing, artificial intelligence and data-driven command systems from sites in Bonn, Munich, Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Meckenheim and Rheinbach. It hires IT architects, system engineers, cyber security specialists, Java and SAP developers, IT service managers and help desk staff.
