  • Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, data models, reconciliations, and datasets to improve performance, scalability, and reusability.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Application teams to design and implement data enrichment, transformation, and integration solutions.
  • Support and enhance data platforms, reporting processes, and analytical assets using modern data technologies and best practices.
  • Own data preparation, validation, and reconciliation activities supporting statutory reporting, regulatory filings, annual statement reporting, premium tax reporting, market conduct examinations, audits, and ad hoc regulatory requests.
  • Develop deep expertise in Property & Casualty insurance operations, regulatory reporting requirements, and statutory accounting principles.
  • Ensure analytical outputs align with regulatory expectations and support sound business decision-making.
  • Translate regulatory and business requirements into sustainable data processes and controls.
  • Independently diagnose data quality, integration, and reporting issues across multiple systems and business functions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and develop sustainable corrective actions that improve data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Design analytical approaches for complex or ambiguous business problems where requirements may be incomplete or evolving.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting, improve efficiency, and enhance data accessibility for business stakeholders.
  • Build strong partnerships with Compliance, Finance, Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, MGA Operations, Applications, and Data Engineering teams.
  • Effectively communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop clear narratives that connect data insights to regulatory, operational, and business outcomes.
  • Challenge assumptions, provide data-driven recommendations, and influence prioritization of data and reporting initiatives.
  • Champion data governance practices and contribute to the development of data standards, controls, documentation, and definitions.
  • Establish and enhance data quality monitoring processes within assigned domains.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for analytical methodologies, reporting practices, and regulatory data requirements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to analysts by reviewing analytical approaches, sharing best practices, and supporting professional development.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and analytical excellence.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, business analytics, computer science, actuarial science, finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in data analysis, business intelligence, analytics, regulatory reporting, or related functions within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory reporting, statutory reporting, compliance initiatives, or financial reporting processes.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance operations and data structures across policy, claims, underwriting, accounting, finance, or actuarial functions.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale relational databases, data warehouses, and data transformation methodologies.
