We’re a rapidly growing D2C manufacturer looking for an Accountant to oversee and maintain the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This newly created position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys taking ownership, and is motivated by improving systems and processes.
This is not a basic data-entry bookkeeping role. We are looking for someone who understands how accounting interacts with inventory, manufacturing, ecommerce, freight, and operational workflows. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and operational visibility of the business.Experience with manufacturing accounting and QuickBooks Online is required.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of month-end and year-end close procedures including producing monthly P&L reports
- Ensure the balance sheet is accurate
- Maintain and reconcile company bank accounts and credit cards
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile customer settlements
- Track inventory adjustments and costing support
- Assist with freight, landed cost, and operational expense tracking
- Complete customer credit applications and vendor documentation
- Assist with sales tax filings and government remittances
- Support order processing and operational administration as needed
- Work closely with the CEO and external accountants
- Assist with cash flow tracking and reporting
- Help improve internal systems and accounting processes
- Troubleshoot issues within QuickBooks Online
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Experience with accrual accounting
- Experience working with a manufacturing company required
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience required
- Strong understanding of reconciliations and financial reporting
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
- Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills
- Experience with inventory-based businesses preferred
- Experience with Amazon, Shopify, or retail channels is an asset
