Technical Delivery Lead

We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of development and AI-driven projects. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and successful delivery of technical solutions while supporting and mentoring developers across the team.

Working closely with Project Managers, Solution Leads, and development teams, you will act as the senior technical authority, guiding architectural decisions, validating technical scope, improving delivery outcomes, and helping teams navigate complex technical challenges. Ideal Profile

Technical Expertise

• Proven hands-on software development experience across multiple programming languages and technology stacks.
• Strong ability to review, troubleshoot, and guide technical implementation without being focused on day-to-day coding.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, solution design, and development best practices.
• Experience working with Jira or similar project management tools to structure and manage development work effectively.

AI & Emerging Technologies

• Current, practical experience using AI development tools and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of the capabilities, limitations, and governance considerations of AI-assisted development.
• Ability to assess how AI impacts productivity, delivery effort, and project estimation.

Leadership & Mentoring

• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing technical teams.
• Ability to provide constructive technical guidance while maintaining team ownership and accountability.
• Strong capability to reduce knowledge silos and promote cross-functional collaboration.

Delivery & Commercial Awareness

• Experience supporting project delivery with an understanding of how technical decisions impact timelines, budgets, and client outcomes.
• Strong technical judgement with the ability to balance quality, feasibility, and commercial considerations.
• Ability to identify risks, scope changes, and delivery challenges early.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Confidence to challenge assumptions and technical approaches in a constructive and professional manner.
• Experience working in consulting, client-facing, or multi-project environments is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Technical Oversight and Quality

• Provide technical leadership across active development projects.
• Review solution designs, architectures, and implementation approaches to ensure quality, maintainability, and suitability.
• Support developers in resolving complex technical challenges and delivery blockers.
• Establish and uphold technical standards, governance, and development best practices.

AI-Augmented Development Leadership

• Stay current with evolving AI development technologies and industry trends.
• Guide developers on the effective and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
• Ensure AI-generated outputs are appropriately reviewed, tested, and validated.
• Apply AI tools within your own workflow to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to realistic project estimation by assessing the true impact of AI on delivery effort.

Work Breakdown and Task Management

• Ensure development work is structured into clear, manageable, and trackable tasks.
• Review and refine task breakdowns to improve sequencing, clarity, and delivery efficiency.
• Maintain visibility of progress through well-organized project tracking and reporting practices.
• Support accurate planning and forecasting through effective task management.

Team Guidance and Mentoring

• Mentor and support developers across varying levels of experience.
• Encourage technical growth through coaching, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.
• Promote best-practice development approaches and continuous improvement.
• Reduce single points of dependency by encouraging broader knowledge distribution across teams.

Scope Validation and Solution Planning

• Validate technical scope and feasibility during discovery and solution design activities.
• Assess integration complexity, data readiness, and technical risks before project commencement.
• Contribute to realistic effort estimates and solution recommendations.
• Identify potential scope risks and implementation challenges early in the engagement lifecycle.

Delivery and Commercial Support

• Partner with Project Managers to support delivery planning, sequencing, and risk management.
• Balance solution quality with project timelines and budget considerations.
• Escalate technical risks and issues proactively.
• Identify scope changes and support appropriate change management processes.
• Provide technical insight to support successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.
