The Role

Position Overview

• Provide technical support for the software package(s) developed by the company, and its supporting technologies.

• Utilizing problem solving skills and experience in analysis across a range of technologies such as Linux, JAVA, Tomcat, Apache, Windows, MS SQL Server and Cloud tools AWS/AWX

• Assist to maintain technical documentation, FAQs and knowledge bases.

• Work within defined standards and procedures to ensure security and integrity of data and systems are maintained, and participate in constant improvement of those standards.

• Provide technical skills, innovation and ideas around all of the technologies that the Operations team supports.

• Working closely with Helpdesk, Developers, Business Analysts and clients to resolve complex application issues

• Deploying, maintaining, improving and monitoring high load web applications

• Being effective, responsive and methodical in a production environment Providing a high level of communication and participating in client support directly

• “Hands on” participation with the operations team in the support of client facing systems.

• Assist in the training of other team members as appropriate.

• Effectively advocate and communicate for the team.

• Be an advocate for the applications and technologies supported and represent their best interests.

Primary Objectives and Responsibilities

• Support the applications by working through assigned issues.

• Prioritize and respond to all issues with a sense of urgency.

• Understand, in depth, the technical aspects of the supporting systems including hardware and network.

• Responsive application troubleshooting using log analysis, SQL Server analysis and OS debugging on Linux and Windows

• Problem solving complex issues by collaboration and effective research.

• Support the Hosted environment including supporting technologies such as VMWare, Java, Apache, Tomcat, Oracle, MSSQL, Linux.

• Help manage and respond to monitoring systems to ensure the systems meet performance and availability as per SLA expectations.

• Support the Software delivered by the company, including on-site, remote access and hosted.

• Pro-actively and pre-emptively identify potential issues and subsequently plan and resolve these issues to provide systems scalability and availability.

• Provide on call support for the applications

• Work on assigned special projects to ensure delivery.

• Assist other team members with their issues, duties and projects.

• Customer servicing both internal and external stakeholders by regular communication on updates and relevant issues.

• Effectively manage and reasonably set internal and external client expectations.
