Foxway seeks Data Scientist for Pricing & Business Modelling
About the Role
Join a leading European company in the technology refurbishing sector as a Data Scientist. You will work on real operational problems involving pricing, inventory and demand modelling, optimization and decision-support tools. The role spans the full data science lifecycle - from understanding the business problem and developing models to production deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Algorithm Development & Automation
Design, build, and implement machine learning and statistical models to automate pricing and business decisions for refurbished mobile devices, from prototype to production environment
Develop robust, scalable modelling solutions that address real-world pricing and business challenges, including dynamic pricing, demand forecasting, competitor analysis, and other business modelling use cases
Explore and evaluate new modelling approaches and data sources to improve decision quality.
Business Insight & Model Translation
Collaborate closely with business, operations, and product stakeholders to distil complex requirements into actionable data science solutions
Translate operational and market insights into predictive and statistical models that drive measurable business value
Support business modelling initiatives beyond pricing, such as demand planning, inventory optimization, or customer analytics, as our data science scope expands
Model Development & Continuous Improvement
Continuously monitor model performance and business outcome, address issues such as data drift or model degradation, and retrain models as necessary to maintain optimal accuracy
Develop appropriate validation and experimentation approaches to evaluate models and decision strategies.
Build analytical and monitoring solutions that make model behaviour and business impact transparent. Stay current with the latest research and industry best practices, supporting the implementation of new approaches to improve pricing outcomes
Collaboration & Communication
Work cross-functionally with engineering, data, and business teams to ensure seamless integration of pricing models into business systems
Help ensure deployed solutions are reliable, maintainable and appropriately monitored.
Communicate analytical findings, model behaviour, uncertainty and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision making.
Required Qualifications
2-5 years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or a closely related applied modelling role. Experience with designing and maintaining life cycle of machine learning models in production is required.
Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, LightGBM or XGBoost).
Solid understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modelling, model validation and feature engineering.
Experience developing and maintaining models or analytical solutions beyond the initial prototype stage. Ability to translate ambiguous business and operational problems into quantitative solutions.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and an interest in understanding how models behave in real operational environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex results clearly and persuasively
Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Experience
Experience in pricing, e-commerce, marketplaces, retail, recommerce or another data-intensive commercial environment.
Experience with pricing optimization, price elasticity, demand forecasting, inventory modelling or revenue management.
Experience with model monitoring, automated ML pipelines or production ML systems.
Familiar with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP or Azure and containerization such as Docker.
Interest or experience in modern AI/LLM applications where relevant to business problems.
