VP Finance

Role Purpose

The VP Finance will be a key strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, ensuring that financial considerations are embedded into business strategy and execution. The role will create greater financial visibility, strengthen governance and controls, improve cash and profitability management, mitigate financial risk, and build a scalable global Finance function capable of supporting GlobalStep’s continued growth.

Characteristics of the Individual

• Qualification & Experience: CA with 18+ years of overall Finance experience, including 7+ years in a senior Finance leadership role. Proven experience managing Finance for multi-entity, multinational organizations, preferably across the US, Canada, UK, Europe and India. IT/ITeS and Manufacturing sector experience preferred.

• Hands-on Finance Leader: A leader who is comfortable being deeply involved in execution, reviewing critical numbers, resolving issues, challenging assumptions and driving closure rather than operating only through delegation.

• Strong Global Finance Leadership: Experience in managing the complete Finance function across multiple geographies, legal entities, currencies and regulatory environments.

• Analytical Bent of Mind: Strong ability to analyse financial and operational data, identify trends and variances, connect financial results to business drivers, and convert insights into actionable business decisions.

• Exceptional Eye for Detail: High level of rigor and accuracy when reviewing financial statements, forecasts, cash flows, contracts, commercial terms, controls and financial transactions.

• Strategic Business Partner: Ability to act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on profitability, cash flow, working capital, cost optimization, CapEx and strategic business decisions.

• Team Mentor & People Leader: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop a 15+ member Finance team, build strong capabilities, establish accountability and create a high-performance culture.

• Strong Governance & Controls Orientation: Deep understanding of internal controls, compliance, risk management, transfer pricing and financial governance, with the ability to establish robust and scalable processes.

• Excellent Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong communicator who can present financial results with clarity and influence stakeholders across functions and geographies, while effectively managing bankers, auditors, tax advisors and legal counsel.

• Technology & Process Orientation: Highly proficient in MS Excel and financial analysis, with experience using ERP/accounting platforms; SAGE knowledge is an advantage. Should actively identify opportunities to use technology, automation and systems to improve Finance efficiency

Office Timing

Generally, the working hours will be 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST. However, the working schedule will remain flexible and may need to shift depending on global time zones, team interactions, stakeholder meetings, and business requirements. Given the global scope of the role, the incumbent should be comfortable adapting working hours to align with the needs of teams and stakeholders across different geographies.
