Financial Manager

Qualifications:

• B.Com or B.Compt in Accounting or Financial Management - essential
• Completed articles - preferred
• Professional designation such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) - preferred
• Valid driver’s licence

• 5-8 years’ experience within financial accounting and/or management accounting
• Minimum 2 years’ experience at management level with direct reports
• Strong multi-entity accounting and consolidation experience
• Experience within mining, quarrying, aggregates, construction materials or manufacturing
• Exposure to tonnage-based costing, bulk inventory and contract supply arrangements would be highly advantageous
• Experience taking ownership of a full annual budgeting cycle across multiple operating units
• Hands-on VAT, income tax and SARS engagement experience
• Practical stock and inventory control experience within an operational environment
• Experience preparing annual financial statements and managing external audits

• Multi-entity consolidations and intercompany eliminations
• Monthly management accounts and month-end close
• Balance sheet reconciliations and journal review
• Annual budgeting and detailed variance analysis
• Rolling 13-week cash-flow forecasting
• Group cash and working-capital management
• Debtors management and collection
• Creditors and negotiated payment-plan management

• Sage 200 Evolution highly advantageous; strong comparable ERP experience will also be considered
• Strong leadership and stakeholder-management ability
• Working knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act would be advantageous

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of the monthly financial close across the group and ensure finalised management accounts are delivered by the 20th of each month.

You will prepare group consolidations, manage intercompany eliminations, review journals and balance sheet reconciliations, lead the annual budgeting process and provide meaningful actual-versus-budget analysis across the operating entities.

This role also carries significant operational responsibility. You will own the group's rolling 13-week cash-flow forecast, oversee debtors and creditors, drive collections, manage inventory controls across fuel, spares and aggregate stockpiles, and ensure the integrity of stock counts and related financial reporting.

You will oversee tax and statutory compliance across the group, maintain appropriate financial controls, prepare annual financial statements, manage the external audit process and provide financial information to funders.

Importantly, you will lead and develop the finance team while partnering with Site Managers to drive financial accountability throughout the operations.

Regular travel to operations in Limpopo and Lanseria will form part of the position.
