Senior Financial Accountant

• BCom + Honours
• SAIPA, CIMA, or completed articles would be advantageous.
• 5+ years’ experience in financial accounting within an operational environment.
• 1-2 years’ supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience with Power BI and financial reporting tools.
• Experience working with multiple currencies and international stakeholders would be advantageous.

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities and locations.
• Process journals, accounting adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review financial information, identify variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare supporting commentary and insights for management reporting.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Support statutory reporting, tax-related submissions and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation and respond to audit queries.
• Produce regular financial and functional reports for senior management.
• Liaise with finance teams and non-financial stakeholders to explain financial results and trends.
• Support improvements to accounting processes, controls and reporting workflows.
• Contribute to finance projects, including automation and reporting enhancements.
• Review work and provide guidance, training and support to junior accounting staff.
• Ensure financial processes and reporting remain aligned with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.

• Strong financial accounting and reporting expertise.
• Excellent analytical and numerical ability.
• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.
• Power BI reporting and data visualisation experience.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Experience working with large volumes of financial data.
• Process improvement and workflow automation exposure.
• Ability to work across multiple entities, currencies and stakeholder groups.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage confidently with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Self-motivated, resilient and able to work independently.
• Ability to mentor and support junior team members.
• High level of professionalism, integrity and accountability.
