German to English Interpreters (Medical/Legal)

This fully remote role offers the opportunity to support critical communication across medical and legal environments.

You will interpret between German and English speakers with accuracy, clarity, and cultural awareness.

The position involves both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, depending on client and assignment needs.

You will work with sensitive, high-impact conversations where professionalism and confidentiality are essential.

Flexible full-time and part-time schedules are available, including opportunities across 24/7 shifts.

The role is well suited to interpreters who are attentive, reliable, and confident handling specialized terminology.

You will help ensure that language differences never become a barrier to effective communication.

Accountabilities

• Provide accurate and timely German-to-English and English-to-German interpretation for medical and/or legal interactions.
• Deliver both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation while maintaining the intended meaning, tone, and context of each conversation.
• Apply appropriate medical and legal terminology and ensure communication remains clear, culturally appropriate, and professional.
• Support interpretation through over-the-phone interpretation (OPI), video remote interpretation (VRI), or scheduled appointments as required.
• Demonstrate strong listening, note-taking, memory retention, and concentration throughout each assignment.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive personal, medical, or legal information.
• Follow established interpretation standards, client requirements, and quality expectations consistently.
• Maintain a reliable remote working environment and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 months of professional interpretation experience, with interpretation experience clearly stated on your resume.
• Proven experience or specialization in medical or legal interpretation.
• Native or near-native fluency in German, with strong English proficiency.
• Strong understanding of spoken language, context, terminology, and cultural nuances.
• Excellent listening, note-taking, memory retention, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to follow professional interpretation procedures and maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Availability for OPI, VRI, or scheduled appointments, with flexibility to work across different shifts.
• Professional, HIPAA-compliant remote setup suitable for handling sensitive conversations.
• Reliable wired USB headset with noise cancellation.
• Stable internet connection with at least 10 Mbps upload and 20 Mbps download speed.
• Dependable, professional, and adaptable approach to working in high-impact communication environments.
