Job Description:
As an intern, this person willlearn first-hand what careers incommunitybanking involveand will engage in a rotationthrough core departmentsincluding Retail Banking and Consumer, Business, Ag, and Mortgage Lending.Throughout the rotation, this person will gain insight into a variety of business units including WealthManagementas well as experience what happens “behind the scenes” in Credit Reviewand Operations.
Qualifications: This person should have a minimum of oneyearof business-related classes in a higher learning settingor the equivalent.Excellentcommunicationand customer serviceskills are essential.This role requires on-site employment.
Principal Responsibilities:
Work closely withindustryexperts to identifyand differentiate various banking productsand services.
Observe and participatein the customer experience including identifyingneeds, recommending products that fit, and maintainingcustomer relationships.
Learnthe foundations of banking byparticipatingin general Retail functions including processing customer transactions, cash handling, and cash drawer balancing.
Shadowthe lending process from start to finish and develop overall loan file knowledge.
- Observemeetingswith loan customers
- List and describe various loan types and products
- Compile and prepare proper underwriting information
- Introduction tocredit worthiness and cash flowby analyzing creditinformation and referring to policy & guidelines
- View loan processing, servicingand closing
- Witness Departmental collaboration
Introduction to Wealth Management Services including financial planning, trusts, retirement plan services, investment management and estate planning & administration.
Utilize banking systems and observehow they integrate into business processes.
Develop and apply a working knowledge of banking regulations and processes.
Maintain confidentiality, integrityand honesty, especially in dealing with customer information.
Gain skills related to professionalism, financial analysis, decision-making, customer serviceand communication.
Upholdprofessionalstandards when working with customers through various channels.
Attendand participatein committeeand departmentmeetings and professional development opportunities andtrainings.
Connect with and learn from department leaders and management.
Prepare a presentation at the closeof the internship to be presented tokeystakeholders.
Act in accordance withFBTpolicies and procedures as set forthinthe employee handbook.
Adhere to compliance procedures and participatein required compliancetraining.
