On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced General Manager to work in Kenya.

Job Purpose

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the restaurant and padel sports activities. This role ensures high-quality customer service, efficient daily operations, financial performance, and seamless integration of hospitality and sports offerings. The General Manager will lead teams across different departments, maintain service excellence, and ensure that the establishment runs profitably while delivering a premium experience to guests.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Operations Management

• Oversee daily operations of the fine dining restaurant, beer garden, and padel sports facilities.

• Ensure all departments function smoothly, maintaining high service standards.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams for timely replenishments.

• Implement and maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards across all areas.

• Ensure full compliance with operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures, and service standards.

2. Financial Performance & Budgeting

• Draw up and manage budgets, revenue targets, and cost control strategies.

• Oversee cash flow, sales reports, and financial forecasts to maximize profitability.

• Identify and implement strategies to enhance revenue, such as promotions and events.

• Prepare a monthly financial report for the Directors.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies.

3. Customer Experience & Service Excellence

• Maintain a premium guest experience by ensuring high service quality.

• Handle VIP guest relations and resolve customer complaints effectively.

• Work closely with chefs, bartenders, and service teams to enhance the food and beverage experience.

4. Team Leadership & Human Resources

• Recruit, train, and manage staff across different departments.

• Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure clear communication of goals and expectations.

• Motivate and mentor employees, ensuring a strong teamculture and performance.

• Be accountable for the responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.

• Provide effective leadership to team members.

• Lead in all aspects of business planning.

• Hold regular briefings and meetings with all heads of departments.

5. Marketing & Events Coordination

• Position the restaurant to increase daily guest visits and visibility.

• Identify and approach corporates for event bookings, team lunches, and special packages.

• Understand and follow corporate and community events calendars to position the restaurant as a go-to venue.

• Plan and organize events, promotions, and themed experiences to attract customers.

• Market and sell organic breads, sauces, and wines to individuals, corporates, and retail outlets.

• Plan and execute special events, tournaments, and promotional activities to attract and retain customers.
• Maintain a strong brand presence on social media platforms.

• Attract high-end sponsorships for all activities in the restaurant.

• Actively sell restaurant services, offers, and packages to achieve monthly revenue targets.

• Create and implement sales action plans for peak and low seasons.

• Conduct post-event follow-ups to assess satisfaction and gather feedback.

6. Padel Sport Integration

• Ensure the smooth operation of padel courts.

• Coordinate with coaches to enhance the padel experience.

• Organize padel tournaments, leagues, and private coaching sessions.

• Manage the play-tomicplatform for maximum revenue.

• Coordinate the merchandise shop for optimum revenue.

7. Compliance & Legal Requirements

• Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate records related to legal and operational matters.

• Stay updated on industry regulations and implement necessary changes.

Requirements

Qualification and Experience

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a relatedfield.

Experience

• Proven experience in a managerial role within a high-end restaurant, hotel, or sports facility.

Technical Skills

• Ability to manage financials, budgets, and operational costs effectively.

• Experience in event planning, marketing, and customer engagement.
