Role overview
The Spa Therapist will deliver professional spa treatments tailored to clients’ needs and preferences while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and customer care. The successful candidate will consult with clients, recommend suitable treatments, prepare treatment rooms and ensure that every session provides a comfortable, relaxing and professional experience.

Key responsibilities
Spa treatments and client care- Deliver professional spa treatments, including body massages, body scrubs, body wraps and other services offered by the spa, in line with your training and qualifications.
- Consult with clients before treatments to understand their preferences, expectations, comfort levels and relevant health considerations.
- Recommend appropriate treatments and service packages based on clients’ needs and the services available at the spa.
- Adapt treatment techniques and pressure to suit client preferences and remain within professional practice guidelines.
- Explain treatment procedures, expected experiences and aftercare recommendations clearly.
- Monitor clients’ comfort throughout each session and respond promptly to their needs.
- Maintain professional boundaries and respect every client’s privacy, dignity and personal preferences.
- Welcome clients warmly and help them feel comfortable and relaxed throughout their visit.
- Build positive client relationships through attentive service, clear communication and consistent professionalism.
- Provide accurate information about spa treatments, wellness services, packages and available products.
- Respond to client questions and concerns courteously and refer issues to the appropriate team member when necessary.
- Encourage repeat bookings through excellent service and personalised treatment recommendations.
- Contribute to a calm, soothing and inviting spa environment that reflects the Shiida Medi Spa brand.
- Prepare treatment rooms before each appointment by arranging linens, products, equipment and other required supplies.
- Clean and sanitise treatment surfaces, tools and equipment before and after every session.
- Follow established hygiene, infection-prevention and workplace safety procedures.
- Use treatment products and equipment correctly and according to professional guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
- Replace used linens and maintain clean, organised and comfortable treatment spaces.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages of treatment products, supplies and equipment.
- Recognise when a client’s condition or circumstances may require postponing a treatment or seeking appropriate medical advice, and follow the spa’s procedures.
- Coordinate with reception staff and other therapists to manage appointments and minimise delays.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and client notes in accordance with company procedures and confidentiality requirements.
- Support the promotion of spa services, packages and suitable wellness products through informed, professional recommendations.
- Assist with introducing new treatments, seasonal packages and service improvements where appropriate.
- Communicate client preferences and relevant treatment information to authorised team members.
- Participate in training and development activities to improve technical skills and stay informed about wellness trends and treatment techniques.
Candidate requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications, experience and skills:
- A relevant certificate, diploma or vocational qualification in Spa Therapy, Beauty Therapy, Massage Therapy or a related field.
- Previous experience as a spa therapist, massage therapist or beauty therapist is an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of spa treatments, massage techniques, body treatments and professional product application relevant to the services offered.
- Good understanding of hygiene, sanitation, client safety and professional treatment standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand client needs and explain treatments clearly.
- A warm, caring and professional approach to client service.
- Good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage appointments efficiently.
- Attention to detail when preparing treatment rooms, selecting products and delivering treatments.
- Respect for client confidentiality, privacy, dignity and professional boundaries.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other team members.
- A genuine interest in wellness, relaxation, beauty and continuous professional development.
