A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Data Analyst Intern, you’ll join our Transformation of Industry division and support the EHS team in building intelligent reporting solutions and AI-powered tools that drive digital transformation across the business. Your work will help improve compliance, productivity, and decision-making for the team, clients, and partners, while contributing to Siemens Energy’s mission of making energy sustainable, reliable, and affordable.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Assist in designing and building React front-end interfaces connected to back-end LLM services using Python and FastAPI, helping turn AI capabilities into practical tools for EHS and engineering users.
- Support API development to integrate AI models into existing engineering platforms, the data lake, and operational workflows, ensuring smooth and secure data exchange between systems.
- Contribute to digital and ETL pipeline configuration and participate in code reviews under the guidance of senior team members, building good engineering practices and data quality habits.
- Help maintain deployed AI applications by logging issues, triaging and resolving bugs, and improving features based on user feedback to keep tools reliable and useful day to day.
- Monitor application performance using cloud dashboards such as AWS CloudWatch or Azure Monitor, flagging anomalies and supporting timely resolution with the wider team.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture notes, API references, and user guides, and support user onboarding and adoption through demos, walkthroughs, and written guides.
What You Bring
- Recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field.
- Hands-on Python experience gained through coursework, personal projects, or open-source contributions, along with a basic understanding of REST APIs and front-end development using React or a similar framework.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including an interest in how applications are deployed, monitored, and maintained.
- A basic understanding of data handling concepts such as ETL, data pipelines, and data quality principles, plus familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools (Power BI preferred) for operational and analytical insights.
- Awareness of cybersecurity fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, and secure data handling, with a genuine interest in responsible and ethical AI practices.
- Curiosity about AI governance and compliance in an enterprise engineering context, combined with good communication skills and a proactive, eager-to-learn attitude.
