Senior Developer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) on a short-term basis in Ukraine. Our client is an AI company building practical, industry-specific AI for dental and healthcare practices. Its platform supports marketing, operations, and advertising compliance, so small teams who wear many hats can spend less time on repetitive work and more on patients

You will be part of a small offshore team of two, extending our client’s cloud-based SaaS platform. The work is integration-heavy: connecting the platform to third-party systems and building customer-facing messaging and workflow features on top of them. You will work directly with the client’s engineers and product owner, set the technical approach within the client’s conventions, and guide a mid-level developer. Because the team is small, you will own quality, testing, and release readiness as well as delivery.

Requirements

• Senior-level commercial experience in full-stack JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong Node.js and Express experience, including serverless delivery on AWS Lambda.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, migrations, performance, and row-level security.
• Proven experience building and maintaining third-party REST API integrations, including OAuth 2.0 and webhooks.
• Working experience with React.
• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS and handling sensitive personal data.
• Experience with AWS (RDS, SES, CloudWatch).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Will be a plus

• Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments.
• Experience with email deliverability and SMS gateways.
• Familiarity with Australian privacy and messaging regulation.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, document, and refactor complex features and integration services.
• Design and build integrations with third-party APIs, handling authentication, rate limits, failures, and vendor differences reliably.
• Review the mid-level developer’s work, set coding standards, and coach them.
• Own automated testing, release readiness, and production monitoring for the work the team delivers.
• Use Claude Code within the client’s review guardrails to work quickly without lowering quality.
