A broad, hands-on infrastructure engineering role with ownership across cloud, networks, security, datacenter operations, and local site technology.

Our platform operates around the clock for customers across multiple continents. Behind the platform is a globally distributed IT team responsible for the infrastructure, security, networking, and operational services that keep both our products and our employees running.

We are looking for an Infrastructure & Network Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. This is a broad, hands-on role combining infrastructure engineering, networking, security, cloud operations, and local site support. You will help maintain and improve the technology that powers our business operations and customer-facing services.

Because our team is intentionally lean, the role offers significant ownership and influence. You will work closely with colleagues across IT, product development, security, and delivery while acting as the local technical presence for our Bangalore office and datacenter facilities.

Location and Working Arrangement:

This is a hybrid role based in Noida. Much of the day-to-day work can be performed remotely; however, the position is not fully remote. Univers Bazefield maintains an office in Noida plus physical infrastructure and networking equipment in Bangaluru that occasionally requires hands-on intervention.

Candidates should live within reasonable travelling distance of the office facilities and be able to attend on-site when required, including occasionally outside normal business hours during incidents or maintenance activities. Travel to the datacenter will be required when determined by the business case.

• Take ownership of regional infrastructure, networking equipment, and datacenter operations in the Asis Region.
• Contribute to improvements in reliability, monitoring, security, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues across infrastructure, development, delivery, and customer-facing teams.
• Help strengthen the company’s security, compliance, and operational maturity.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Cloud Operations:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the company’s infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments.
• Administer servers, virtualisation platforms, storage systems, backup solutions, and monitoring tools.
• Perform patching, lifecycle management, capacity planning, and platform maintenance.
• Support the hosting, deployment, and delivery of Bazefield services in collaboration with engineering and delivery teams.

Network & Security Engineering:

• Operate and maintain network and security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, wireless networks, and network segmentation.
• Assist with platform hardening, vulnerability remediation, access control management, and security improvements.
• Support logging, monitoring, security investigations, and incident response activities.
• Contribute to maintaining compliance with security and governance frameworks such as ISO 27001.

Incident Management & Operational Excellence:

• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Identify recurring operational issues and implement sustainable improvements.
• Document configurations, procedures, standards, and operational processes.
• Proactively identify risks, technical debt, and opportunities for automation.

Datacenter & Site Operations:

• Perform hands-on infrastructure work, including hardware installation, replacement, cabling, asset management, and physical troubleshooting.
• Support regional datacenter operations and coordinate with vendors when required.
• Assist during maintenance activities, outages, and infrastructure upgrades.

Local IT Support:

• Act as the local extension of the global IT team for the Noida office.
• Provide hands-on support for laptops, workstations, mobile devices, peripherals, and office technology.
• Manage end-user equipment through its full lifecycle, including provisioning, maintenance, and retirement.

Essential Technical Experience:

We are looking for strong practical experience across most of the following areas:

• Windows Server and Linux administration
• Microsoft Azure cloud services
• Virtualisation platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware
• Network infrastructure and troubleshooting
• Firewall administration and VPN technologies
• Identity and access management
• Microsoft 365 administration
• Server hardware, storage systems, RAID, and NAS technologies
• Backup, recovery, monitoring, and patch management
• Incident response and operational support

Networking Knowledge:

• VLANs, IPv4, and NAT
• IPsec, SSL/TLS, and VPN technologies
• 802.1X authentication
• Routing, switching, wireless networking, and segmentation

Relevant Technology Experience:

• Sophos Firewall, or comparable platforms
• Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365
• Microsoft SQL Server, IIS and Reverse Proxy Technologies
• OpenVPN, Site to SIte VPN Infrastructure and Zero-Trust Networks

Nice to Have Experience:

• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools.
• Automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or equivalent.
• Container platforms and Kubernetes.
• Managed cloud services, databases, or data lake technologies.
• Security technologies such as IDS/IPS, reverse proxy, DLP, and endpoint security.
• Observability and monitoring platforms.
• Experience working within ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience using AI-assisted operational tooling and automation.

Education & Experience:

• 6-10 years of experience in infrastructure, systems, network, or cloud engineering roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
