Mobile Development Lead

Requirements

Lead iOS and Android development using React Native and TypeScript; set standards

for code quality, testing, and reviews.

• Architect scalable, maintainable mobile solutions (state management, navigation,

caching, offline-first and analytics).

• Deliver pixel-perfect UI from Figma with high-quality animations and consistent

behaviour across devices.

• Own mobile release management: CI/CD, OTA updates (where applicable), store

submissions, and post-release monitoring.

• Collaborate with backend teams on API contracts, performance, and reliability; ensure

robust error handling and observability.

• Mentor and support engineers through sprints, planning, estimation, technical guidance,

and 1:1 coaching.

• Report weekly to the Head of Engineering on progress, risks, and roadmap delivery.

Must-have requirements

• 7+ years building mobile apps with 3+ years of production React Native experience at

scale.

• Strong TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals; proven ability to write clean,

well-structured code (not just glue code).

• Deep mobile fundamentals: performance profiling, memory management, networking,

offline storage, and app lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience with mobile CI/CD and release pipelines (Fastlane, EAS, GitHub

Actions/Bitrise/CircleCI, etc.).

• Experience with OTA updates and feature flagging strategies.
• Excellent understanding of iOS/Android UX patterns and App Store / Play Store

requirements.

• Leadership experience guiding a remote or cross-functional team; strong communication

and accountability.

Nice-to-have

• Expo (managed workflow) and EAS build experience.
• Node.js API familiarity (to collaborate effectively with backend teams).
• Advanced UI/graphics work (e.g., maps/GPS, charts, OpenGL/Canvas, animation-heavy

experiences).

• Experience in fintech, loyalty, e-commerce, delivery/logistics, gaming or high-traffic

consumer apps.

• PostgreSQL knowledge and data modelling awareness (helpful for end-to-end thinking).
