Associate AI Experience team within the AI & Data pillar is dedicated to empowering field associates, business users, and developers alike with seamless, governed AI embedded into everyday workflows to elevate productivity. We build a unified, personalized, and trusted super-agent ecosystem that transforms how work gets done. By putting intuitive agent creation tools directly into the hands of associates, our organization enables domain experts across the enterprise to seamlessly build, test, evaluate, and deploy their own grounded AI agents-connecting their team's knowledge, automating complex tasks, and driving productivity with built-in governance.

Our team is looking for a strong Staff Software Engineer who will help us build this next-generation platform by designing, coding, building, and deploying highly scalable, robust, and intelligent cloud solutions. In this role, you will architect the foundational engines that power associate-built AI agents, automated evaluation workflows, and enterprise-grade governance pipelines that seamlessly cater to associate requirements across internal stakeholders.

As part of Walmart Global Tech in India building solutions across global Walmart markets, your designs and engineering solutions will have a direct, daily impact on millions of associates. You will be challenged with complex business and technical problems that span multiple countries, massive data scale, and enterprise-wide adoption.

What you'll do:

We are looking for a strong Staff Software Engineer for the Associate AI Experience team who will help us build next generation Walmart suite of products and platform by designing, coding, building and deploying highly scalable and robust cloud based intelligent solutions for our associates. This team would be building a cloud-based platform to cater to the associate requirements and benefits for internal stake holders.

As a part of Walmart Global Tech in India that works on building solutions various business functions for multiple Walmart markets, your design and solution will have a significant impact on day-to-day running of Walmart. You will be challenged with unparalleled complex business problems that spans across multiple countries, large number of users and data.

• Through this role you have an opportunity to design and develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the customer and the company.
• You also get to collaborate with team members to develop best practices and client requirements for the software.
• In this role it would be important for you to professionally maintain all codes, best practices and create updates regularly to address the customers and company's concerns
• You will show your skills in analysing and testing programs/products before formal launch to ensure flawless performance
• You will be required to review design and code, provide technical solutions to team for complex requirements
• Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently will offer you a chance to grow your skills in a high-pace, high-impact environment.
• Software security is of prime importance and by developing programs that monitor sharing of private information, you will be able to add tremendous credibility to your work
• You will also be required to seek ways to improve the software and its effectiveness.
• You will be called upon to support the coaching and training of other team members to ensure all employees are confident in the use of software applications

What you'll bring:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Minimum 10 years of object-oriented programming experience in Java, Spring boot, Microservices, React Typescript, Nest, Node Typescript.
• Good understanding of Data Structures
• 10+ years of experience in systems design, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Have programming experience preferably in the Finance/ retail / ecommerce industry.
• Python knowledge would be an added advantage
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS
• Experience working in Agile Methodology
• Experience using CI/CD, tools for logging and metrics
• A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimize systems and tools.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
• Exposure to information retrieval, statistics, and machine learning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
