Overview
The Aviation Institute of Maintenance is a US network of vocational schools training aircraft maintenance technicians for FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification, with additional skilled-trades programmes such as electrical, lineworker and welding training. Established in 1969, it operates 15 campuses nationwide, including Dallas, Atlanta, Fremont, Chicago, Manassas, Las Vegas, Charlotte and Houston, and reports that about a fifth of all students at FAA-certified A&P schools attend its campuses. It hires full-time and part-time aviation maintenance and A&P mechanic instructors, welding and electrical instructors, admissions staff and campus directors.
