Airbus is a European aerospace group formed in 1970 as a consortium of French, German, British and Spanish manufacturers to build a competitor to the American aircraft industry, and now the largest commercial aircraft maker in the world. Its passenger jets run from the A220 through the best-selling A320 family to the A350 widebody, built in an unusual pan-European industrial system where major sections are made in different countries and flown to final assembly lines. Beyond airliners it is the largest civil helicopter maker, builds telecommunications and observation satellites, and supplies military aircraft including the A400M transport.

Airbus is committed to providing reasonable accommodations as an Equal Opportunity Employer to applicants with disabilities. If you require assistance or an accommodation to complete your application, please contact us at [email protected]

Job Description:

Position Summary

This position supports PLM development, DMU integration, and digital engineering workflows for aircraft programs, including the Mobile NGSA and A220 platforms. The primary responsibility is executing technical data management, CAD dataset provisioning (Enovia, CATIA V5), light viewer conversions, and DMU quality assurance checks to ensure alignment with Airbus ways of working. Additionally, this role leverages programming and digital engineering tools (Python, Google Workspace scripts, and AI toolsets) to automate repetitive engineering processes, optimize data workflows, and support continuous tool integration.

Meet the team:

Our Engineers have the privilege of working on complex, highly engineered machines and are involved at all stages of the aircraft life cycle, from product development to manufacturing and direct support to our airline customers. If you’re interested in designing, creating, and testing the present and future of Airbus products across the globe, join our mission to connect the world.

Your working environment:

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

How we care for you:

  • Financial Rewards: Competitive base salary, incentive compensation which may include profit sharing schemes, retirement savings plan and the ability to participate in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”)

  • Work/Life Balance: Paid time off including personal time, holidays and a generous paid parental leave program.

  • Health & Welfare: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical (traditional and high-deductible health plans), prescription, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages.

  • Individual Development: Upskilling and development opportunities through our global Leadership University, including unlimited access to 10,000+ e-learning courses focusing on ways to develop your employability, certifications, career path as well as the opportunity to participate in accelerated development programmes and both national and international mobility.

At Airbus, we support you to work, connect and collaborate more easily and accessibly. Wherever possible, we support flexible working arrangements to stimulate innovative thinking.

Your challenges:

  • Support the AS-IS Business Architecture testing within the PLM system to identify required modifications for Airbus Ways of Working (WoW).

  • Assist in testing key capabilities across 3Dx SaaS, CAD Modeler Coexistence (CV5 PB + CV6), 3Dx Enovia Maturity on Release Process, and Multi-View Management (PBS).

  • Gather inputs and organize technical data required for High-Level Design Dossiers (HLDD) and G3/G4 gate preparations.

  • A220 DMU Data Provisioning & Conversion:

  • Extract native DMU design data on demand from source systems (Enovia, CATIA V5 R21).

  • Prepare and convert CAD datasets into JT, SPS, and CGR light viewer formats for platforms like Novo Desk and Laurentides.

  • Execute routine data transfer operations across manual and semi-automated workflows (utilizing PLMBI within the A220 Beluga enclave).

  • DMU Quality Assurance & StepX (A220 Stretch) Support:

  • Perform quality checks comparing "New Method" vs. "Old DMU" data to identify gaps, coordinating with design teams to resolve structural or geometry inconsistencies.

  • Conduct completeness checks for the Configured DMU (cDMU) team (comparing Best-So-Far vs. cDMU vs. Native data).

  • Provide entry-level design and setup support for new aircraft variant environments, including the A220 Stretch (StepX) program.

  • Process Automation & Scripting: Apply basic proficiency in Python to assist with automating repetitive design tasks, running dataset checks, generating reports, and parsing technical data.

  • Workflow & Collaboration Tools: Utilize Google Apps Scripts and Google Workspace features (Sheets, Docs, Drive) to streamline team workflows, consolidate project data, and support dashboard reporting.

  • Data Extraction & Web Tools: Utilize web automation tools (such as Selenium) to assist in extracting design data and interacting with internal applications or supplier portals.

  • AI & Digital Engineering Adoption: Utilize digital toolsets and AI ecosystem applications (including Gemini tools and Workspace integrations) to enhance daily research, drafting, and technical problem-solving.

  • Additional Responsibilities: Digital Engineering & Automation

  • Process Automation & Scripting: Apply technical proficiency in Python (including libraries like Pandas) to automate complex engineering workflows, data analysis, and report generation.

  • Workflow Optimization: Leverage Google Workspace tools (including Apps Script) and AI tools (such as Google Gemini) to streamline project management, technical research, and team productivity.

  • Data Extraction: Utilize web automation tools (e.g., Selenium) to extract and process technical data from internal databases and supplier portals.

  • Other duties as assigned: Perform other technical, administrative, or program support duties as assigned.
