As a Solution Architect within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's services (like Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Quick, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon SQS, etc) within strategic accounts across Norway.

Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, and developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.

The ideal candidate will possess customer-facing skills that will allow them to represent Amazon well within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact and give guidance with software developers and architects. The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think structured about business, product, and technical challenges.

Key job responsibilities

You will manage the overall technical relationship between AWS and our customers, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency to accelerate their challenging projects.

You will also:

- Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.

- You will build the technical relationship with customers and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide.

- Internally, you will be the voice of the customer, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features.

- You will participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. whitepapers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelize and educate about AWS (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).

- Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by hiring, coaching and mentoring others.

- Develop areas of depth in technical domains relevant to your interests and your customer's outcomes.

A day in the life

You will have the opportunity to work with account managers to help customers accelerate their cloud implementation to modernize their business on AWS. Working with these customers, you will help them transform existing workloads by designing modern target architectures optimized for business agility, innovation, performance, resiliency, cost, security, and more using both native and partner solutions.

Our teams focus on understanding customer key business drivers as well as the existing application architecture(s) to deliver a technical recommendation to the customer with a goal of designing a robust cloud architecture that can scale as their business requires.

Basic qualifications

- Experience in design/ implementation/ consulting/ devops experience with distributed applications

- 4+ years experience in infrastructure or software architecture, with knowledge in associated technology areas such as databases and networking.

- Experience in pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture for technology/software sales

- Fluency in Norwegian and English

- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

- Extensive design/implementation/consulting/devops experience with distributed applications

Preferred qualifications

- Technical degree in Computer Science

- Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies

- Experience with AI/ML technologies

- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers

- Experience with “on-premise to cloud” migrations or IT transformations

- Experience architecting/operating solutions for cloud.
