Curtiss-Wright is an American industrial company formed in 1929 from the merger of businesses founded by the Wright brothers and Glenn Curtiss, making it one of the oldest names in aviation. It no longer builds aircraft, and instead supplies highly engineered components and systems for naval nuclear propulsion, commercial nuclear power, aerospace platforms, defence electronics and industrial process equipment. Headquartered in Davidson, North Carolina and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, its position on United States naval reactor programmes is effectively sole-source and underpins much of its earnings.
